What a peculiar choice that is? Somewhat limits the versatility of these parts, especially as the rim design is not familiar either - ie. there is no 12mm hex version of this design.

Swing and a miss in my opinion. Especially as the CW01 chassis can accept hex wheels rather easily with a wider hex or #53913 Hop Up. Shame.

Should have designed them to work with the frog rear hex adapter #53913

Let's talk about tires for these things.

Other than the 50476 Rally and 54598 Rock Blocks, what tires can we use on these things?  Do we know the actual diameter of these wheels?  Are we certain they are 1.9"?

I assume most (if not all) the Tamiya 26mm touring tires can be used.  I've also read elsewhere that the Thundershot spikes 1980538 will fit???

How about vintage 1.9" buggy rear tires???

Thanks,

Terry

54735 Mud Blocks, typically bundled in CC-01&2 kits, could look good on a buggy. At ~86mm, they are a tad smaller than Rock Blocks (~94mm).

Tried and failed? They didn't take the dye?

Tried and failed.

I suspected they wouldn't take dye based on how they sounded in the packaging ("tinky" instead of "tunky"), and by the gloss on the plastic once removed from the bag.

I was dying to some CVAv1 shocks red so I thought I would try these.  They sat in hot dye water for about 20 minutes.  They did not warp, but I didn't add them to boiling water - only hot.  Not dice - the dye didn't dye, the wheels were still sparkly white after a good rinse with cold water.

I dyed some Tamiya wheels that didn't initially work out - the standard black Rit dye didn't take at all, but synthetic 'graphite' Rit dye worked, with Acetone & some distilled white vinegar.

Im about to start a Grasshopper Candy Green build and am after some different wheels than the kit ones.  Ideally i would like to paint/dye them green to match the body.  Came across these and thought here we go!  But alas looks like they cant be dyes or painted (if im correct)?

Has anyone got photos of these with tyres on a grasshopper?  What tyres will fit other than the ones mentioned?

Thx guys

Hi,

They should fit a Grasshopper well, as they fit SRBs (very) well in my opinion ^_^ (in stock form GH One has the same wheels if I'm not wrong)

Should also be painted as they look ABS (not 100% sure but...)

For the tires, all 1.9' diameters with approx 26mm width will fit nicely :)

I will have to try this!  Thanks!

Same wheel diameter as those already approved to fit these wheels, yes?

Hello!

RACE REPORT:

Had yesterday a very important RC event, the Bi-Annual-Behind-Parent's-House-Parking-Lot-Race (B.A.B.P.H.P.L.R.) between my SRB and my dear brother's one. Had Tamiya 9805543 at Front, and 54735 at Rear, and the car was:

- quite understeering at high speed (let's say "no more" rollovers, which is cool for an SRB on tarmac)

- slightly over-steering at low speeds.

Was great, despite a bit goofy look I admit. Also to be taken into account, steering systems of our cars are heavily modified: direct steer for my brother's Sand Scorcher and re-arranged/lengthened horns on mine

Not without a lot of stretching and deformation. Brat tires are 1.7" inside diameter, these wheels are 1.9. You can probably force them, but they wouldn't sit right.

Thanks, guess I'll go with Brat wheels for now and upgrade to these new wheels/tires at a later date.
