Oh they look very cool. And I'm sure Willy likes the change of style once in a while :)

Where did they come from?

There definitely looks like theres room to fit an LED in each of the lower headlights :)

Ooh, I'd forgotten all about those!  I think a kid at school had one, it's the only one I ever saw.  I remember him putting a penny in the back.

It reminded me of the Char-G range, which was very similar and may have used the same moulds?  Not sure I ever saw a real Char-G up close, I drooled over them in the Argos catalogue but never had enough pocket money to buy one.

Wow, I never knew such things existed. Just searching for those terms brings up some really interesting possiblities for RC conversion projects :) Even as they are, some of those could be a laugh. Looks like theis a similar product known as Tomy "Q-Steer".

I wish Tamiya made these instead of buggies. I've seen a comical Toyota before and loved the idea. It'd make a fun category for racing, too.

May I make a slight alteration to that statement? Because I wish Tamiya made these as well as buggies :)

Interestingly, there was a discussion about Tamiya's current race cars at the Revival last weekend, specifically that Tamiya no longer makes RC buggies suitable for the racing we do.  I offered a corollary, which is that we no longer do the type of racing that Tamiya makes suitable RC buggies for.

I think proper organised wheelie races would be awesome fun, and could even be expanded to a full season - they could race on grass, astro, tarmac and even mixed surfaces like Mendip's rallycross layout.  It could be a single fully-open class (all the Tamiya wheelie cars from history plus Schumacher Wildcat, and whatever other manufacturers have jumped in from time to time) and huge grid numbers (30+ cars in one big race), or it could be class-specific - CW-01, WR-02 (including comical), GF-01 (including comical), with smaller grids, with maybe an open-class 10 minute derby (non-results-counting) at the end of the meet with all the competitors on track at once, just like the classic wheelie races we used to do at Revival.

There could even be space for some additional classes, like a stock Grasshopper/Hornet/DT-01/etc class, to bring back the kind of stock racing that is all but gone at serious vintage meets like Revival, and classic monster trucks, stadium trucks, etc...

I'll stop now as I'm hijacking the thread, but I'm really taken by this idea

Love my GF01

And yes, Tamiya could certainly do more than the current bodies. Lots of comical options. If they released a comical lanca delta rally  for example I would be on that.

Would also love to see smaller scale clods and blackfoots on them too.

Hi @RC CIAO

Thanks for posting. As you haven't posted any links I have left the post up however if you want to advertise commercially you will need to have a conversation with the site owner @netsmithUK.

Thanks

@RC CIAO Thanks for sharing the news about the body, it looks great. I tried doing a google search for CIAO Design Art and didn't get any results. Also tried looking for the bodies in Super RC and couldn't find them. Please don't take this the wrong way but there have been way too many attempts at scamming here in Tamiya Club. It's possible that the scammers are getting a bit smarter and are now trying more elaborate tactics. Again, please don't take this the wrong way and I hope your business takes off for the benefit of everyone.

Can you confirm if the Mitsubishi comical body is officially licensed?

I don't know @RC CIAO personally, but I can vouch that he's been on FB for quite a while, and has had a FB group for 5 or so years.  I've seen a few of these bodies kicking around on FB...

Seems to have a Suby STi stablemate eventually too.

Pity T hasn’t planned for any further batches of comicals in their current production scheduling.

hope @RC CIAO doesn't mind that I reuploaded the photo

Am I weird that I like these cars more than Tamiya's comicals?

I do like those quite a bit. Price is bit higher than i expected but that makes sense since it is not a mass production model

Indeed, we now have two comical cars related to RALLY. Soon, in the next month, we will be unveiling a new style. Due to the current busyness with the development of the new series and the fact that we have not yet applied for a relevant business account with TAMIYA CLUB, there is less sharing. We will provide detailed information about our products once we complete the three models and apply for an account.

In fact, we encountereSo that it can still be a display piece on the shelf after your intense driving, that's why it comes with a higher price.d many challenges during the development of these car bodies. We aimed to create a shell material different from the past, one that combines the rigid feel of hard-shell with the impact resistance of soft-shell with this shell.
