DT02 Sand Scorcher

Looks good, I've been thinking about getting the kamtec scorcher body and turning my DT02 into a Blitzer beetle.  How did you mount the shell, did you make brackets.

Nice work!! How are you fitting the front Scorcher wheels onto the DT02? I couldnt get them to work on the standard uprights and c-hubs arrangement??

Cheers. The wheels are rough rider/buggy champ and the front wheels just need a washer on first to reduce play as they are narrower than usual DT02 front wheels.

What solution did you use to fit the sand scorcher wheels onto the front of the DT02? Cheers.

I can't find a way to fit the front sand scorcher wheels on the DT02 axles, they are too wide and rub the upright.

Thankfully the rough rider/buggy champ wheels I have are narrower and just need a washer put on first to reduce play. Also they don't rub the upright due to being narrower/a different shape.

I gave up in the end - went with Kyosho Turbo Scorpion wheels as the cleared the steering arms. Ideally I wanted a more period looking smaller diameter wheel with balloon tyres like the scorcher but after buying several different tamiya uprights and axle lengths for the rear wheels to reduce the track width gave up in the end.

Although the rough rider/buggy champ front wheels need a washer to reduce play, the rear wheels fit fine with an extended wheel nut.

Just took the tyres off the sand scorcher wheels but have the screw/nut set for the wheels on the way so rather than not needing them going to order a set of the rough rider/buggy champ wheels and use the spare tyres I've got.
