My advice is always to buy a vintage Frog,

The vintage is better?? 😳🤦‍♂️

Mine back then, couldn't hold itself together with a Parma K Stock and a Nicad,  never mind modern brushless and lipo...

The old one is better, the new one still has a soda can transmission case, cheesey bevel gears, all of the faults of the original.

But now you can enjoy dogbones that fall out on Nimh power, or front wheels that slip off sitting on the shelf!

Only Tamiya can make a re release worse than the original 🤦‍♂️😂

Think I'll be leaving the Brat on the ,keep an eye out for a real cheap one ,wish list...

Not a complete list, but:

  • Thundershot
  • Striker
  • Falcon
  • Hotshot II
  • Fox

For whatever weirdo reason, the Striker would be the instant buy for me.  For the Thundershot I really just want the body -- already have a Thunder Dragon and Terra Scorcher and don't want yet another chassis from that lineage...

I think I actually have all the Tamiya cars that I want.

Hmmm, maybe not. The Mercedes C11. Honorable mention to the M05(?) Beetle.

BBX hasn't been out that long yet.

Dancing Rider or the Dual Rider. They’re unique and cheap, just haven’t been able to catch them in stock at the LHS.

I could probably write all day about this.  And, I probably will.

Grasshopper - no excuse not to really as they're so cheap, but I never do.  Well, I lie - I've had several.  I had one BITD, it came from a friend, very well used.  I patched it up and ran it until the chassis broke.  When the re-re came out, I bought new parts to restore it but ended up selling it on as a project when I was low on funds.  Around that time I also bought an NIB 'hopper on a whim, to try to make a lowrider street-style Grashopper similar to something someone else had posted on here.  But for some reason I never finished it, and in the end sold it on in parts, again when I needed to raise some money.

DT-02 - these were fresh and new when I got back into RC, but never a priority.  I almost bought one for the DT-02 Challenge, before it folded, but ended up running the DT-03 that I already had in the Open class.  That was the last DT-02 Challenge before it disappeared.  Not quite sure what I'd do with one now, but I still fancy owning one, just in case the Challenge reappears (it keeps threatening to, I think it's sort of running this year somewhere).  But it's a lot of money for something that might not get used.

Blackfoot - love the body, love the looks and style.  It would be a fun way to relive my youth, as my only childhood NIB build was a Mud Blaster.  Only I prefer the Blackfoot body.  And yet, the cost stops me - they're not cheap for a badly-performing, weak truck, plus I already have 2 King Blackfoots, only without proper ABS bodies.  And if I bought a Blackfoot, I'd almost certainly end up putting the body on a scaler project and have yet another poorly-performing monster chassis lying around doing nothing.

Wild One / FAV - for some reason these are always down the bottom of my list, despite being right up my street, style-wise.  I could totally do a crazy Mad Max or survival-inspired build.  Plus I could race them at Revival.  I guess I'm afraid I'd end up with a car that is too well-styled to risk putting on the track.

Pajero Rally CC01 - I've had an on-and-off idea to do a Pajero Rally build and actually set it up and drive it like a rally raid truck.  But, like all my other rally cars, suitable terrain is limited and I've got nobody to play with.  And now they're out of production and new bodies are super-rare, which is a shame, I wish I'd jumped on one a few years back when they were everywhere.

CC02 Land Rover - I refused to buy the CC01 version, although the FTX Land Rover-style body looks really cool sitting on my CC01 chassis right now.  I'm a big Landy fan, I practically grew up in a 110 County.  We went everywhere in that thing.  It's always felt odd that I don't have an RC Land Rover when there are so many options.  Mostly I have Japanese and American scale rigs.  The problem is, the CC02 isn't that great of a performer, I don't need yet another gentle trail runner, it's a lot of money, and I could probably build an MST-based custom for the same money.  But, right now, I simply don't have the headspace for any more custom builds.

F1 / GT / Pan car - never had any of these.  I was super-close to buying the F103GT back when they were cheap and plentiful, probably well over a decade ago.  More recently I've considered finding a vintage F1 car that I can run at the Iconic Cup, as a bit of a change from M-chassis racing - but I'm not really sure I'm ready for that yet, they look tricky to drive.  Some Iconic racers have been talking about an endurance race featuring the C11 re-re, and that sounds like heaps of fun - I'd be more than willing to take part.  But the limited release means chassis and spares are thin - ideally we need some more releases with more body options so we can do a proper vintage Le Mans revival.

Porsche 911 GT2 TA02SW - these were cheap during Lockdown 1.0, and I considered buying one as a bored-at-home build.  Money worries stopped me from buying.  Display space was at a premium then (it still is now) so it didn't seem worth buying something I would never drive, and I don't know where I'd drive it.  Still kinda want one, but I really need to sort out my rooms before I bring more stuff into them.

F150 Hi-Lift - I remember the hype when these were released, but back then they were well above my pocket.  I never really thought I'd own one, although I used to walk to work through the park, and imagine myself driving it up and down the bank under the trees.  There was a huge sense of excitement that if I came into big money, I could get one.  One was advertised cheap on here, maybe 10+ years ago.  I sent a message right away, but it had already gone - but it opened my mind to the idea that, maybe, one day...  And yet, now, if I really wanted one, I'd just have to save for a bit, like I do with the other big scalers I buy.  Except now I can't really imagine spending all that money on a truck that is so underperforming.  Even if I don't really want it to perform, I just want to to be chunky and cool and look like the sort of thing I might own if I lived in the US.

On the other hand, there's been a whole load of cars that I wanted from the moment I heard about them, but never ever thought I'd own.  Sometimes the re-res made that possible (Hotshot, Sand Scorcher), other times it was the right place at the right time (Konghead, Landfreeder Quadtrack, Volvo A60H), sometimes it was looking at something for long enough that I finally decided it was time to stop looking and start buying (Pajero Lowrider).

After getting and really enjoying a CC02, I’ve got my eye on a 3 speed, specifically a Hilux Hi Lift. Not in the r/c budget any time soon.

Always thought I'd get my hands on a WW2, but I know it would end up in the 'kids runners' pile and get wrecked like the Heavy Dump truck and Lunchbox.

Personally, I'd like a FF tourer of some kind, not sure if an early one or later, filled with hop ups, but either way it would more than likely end up on the shelf not getting use.

The green grasshopper... I have the white one, but something screams "get me" with that green grasshopper.

All it is after all is a grasshopper that is green....that's it.  I guess I feel like I've spent too much already this year and already have a GH, so why do I want the green one?....it's green and very cheap to buy, but I never buy it.

I've always felt, the Sand Scorcher might be a great kit to build and make it scale looking Baja Bug. But somehow I keep spending my money for something different as it is a pricy kit compared to how it performs and considering the age of the chassis design. Sometimes I've seen some vintage ones at a reasonable price... but each time I decided to get in contact with the seller the deal has already been gone. So maybe one day I might get it.... or not.

I have an urge to order Rock Socker these days, my environment where i live is most suited for a Truck so it is a Obvious choice for me as i then have much more places do drive right outside my door (kids makes it hard to have time for anything else).

Also i think the Body of Rock Socker would be nice if you just dropped the Box Art and Stickers and when Black/chrome with red red wheels

I did actually order it @Tamico but i canceled the order short after because i got Cold feet suddenly, so i have been pretty close on this one..
