At first I didn't like the blackfoot coming into this hobby last year as I was a Tamiya King Cab Nissan lover but it grew on me and I said to myself I have to at least have 1 in my collection so after researching I noticed tamiya made quite a few versions of them. I have always been the person to root for the underdog so I went with the least popular one the blackfoot III. This is my take on it so far. The driver is back from the dead and want some get back on the ones responsible for shooting and killing him off. I gave him a superstock motor with a 3s lipo to help catch them and run them off the streets. I just hope they don't have a brushless system in theirs lol Anyway I had fun building this one and wanted to share. What is your favorite blackfoot? Lets see those builds!

Your builds never disappoint. Love the bullet holes in the windshield. To answer your question however, I would say the OG Blackfoot as God intended. A buddy of mine would bring his over from time to time and we'd run it up and down the street and into the ditches and grass. It was a blast and I have always had a bit of a sweet spot for the ORV chassis. That said, yours is dope.

Awesome job as always!  How on earth do you keep that Super Stock RZ motor cool on 3S ?  I use one on my Wild One with stock gearing and 2.2 sized wheels and it gets warmer than I would like so I don't run it too hard.

On topic, I would have to say my favorite Blackfoot would be the Super Blackfoot and King Blackfoot.  This is perhaps more to do with functionality over form.  I love the ORV chassis and the swing arm rear suspension has its charm, but the gearbox and driveshaft woes easily offset that.  Tamiya (for once) went and fixed all that on the Super Blackfoot, and then reverted back to the usual okey dokey gearbox for the re-release.

My re-re blackfoot and King Blackfoot are here and here:

I hope they re-release the Super or King Blackfoot someday as I've never wheeled one. As a kid, the first Blackfoot was my least favorite trucks because it was the least unique in the Tamiya lineup. Now its one of my favorites.

Heres mine with a lexan raptor proline body. Was my first rc, even took part n an official race ( hopelessly against a bunch of low and fast stadium trucks) ... now its prepared for my kids :)

Strictly the OG for me. I had a Super at one point, and a King, but neither one felt right. And as much as I like the Wild Dagger on which the BF3 is based, I never could warm to it with a Blackfoot body. Yours looks great, but not my cup of tea.

I'm currently fighting the urge (and losing) to hunt down another original Blackfoot or Monster Beetle to restore.

My favourite is the one Tamiya never made - the Blitzer Blackfoot.

The wide Blitzer chassis with its low CoG is a perfect companion to the Blackfoot bodyshell, allowing spirited cornering without tipping over. The bottom of the shell fits perfectly against the top of the tub and even the body mounts line up. It is almost as if Tamiya designed the two to go together, but never got around to releasing them as a kit.

Looks really great, @TurnipJF - but do the tires rub on the body? Hard to see from the angles in the photos - but I guess not, since some "spirited cornering" would probably make it obvious enough in practice ... :D

Love the original, one of my favorite Tamiyas.  Something about that bull nose Ford body and the yellow wheels complimenting the graphics, its just perfect.  Also saw them a bunch in magazines as a kid so it just stuck with me.

The front inner edges of the tyres come pretty close to the ends of the front bumper at full lock, but they clear - just.

Everything else clears just fine. 😀

Thanks and I run superstock in a couple of my cars never had an issue or maybe its because I don't bash any if my cars just casual runs but I think it depends on the setup and gears as one does get hotter more quickly than the other. Now as far as in this truck I haven't ran it outside yet but will this weekend for youtube videos so we will see but I have one in my blitzer beetle and holiday buggy and they run perfectly. I will let you know how it goes!

For me it will always be the original Blackfoot.  A buddy from high school and I started racing RC's off-road about the same time and he raced a new Blackfoot.  I've always liked that truck and last year I finally got one of my own and it sits proudly on my shelf where I can see it - with its reproduction original style decals and very shiny hand polished black lacquer base/clear coat paint job.  :D

Now, I get to ask a question.  Besides the ORV and SRB, what other chassis' did Tamiya offer with an original BF body?

Yes that was the name I gave it in the thread when I built it a while ago. I would have loved to have been able to get a set done in German. Actually this picture is a bit of a fake in that the body is sitting on a shortened GMade GOM chassis. It normally is on a WT01 but I couldn’t find the right picture.
