-200 error, upload failed

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Can't upload as of today, using the same browser (Chrome) as before, I still have 40% of space available for attachments but I'm getting an error message "! -200" in a pop-up box followed by "Upload Failed" in the box beneath a reply.

If someone could confirm if this is something I'm doing wrong / issue with my software that would be grand :)

Hiya,

Possibly a few reasons for this error but sadly nothing definitive.

  • Sometimes due to pixel size of the image is bigger than 2000 pixels
  • Sometimes its a temporary error on the server
  • Sometimes a small change to the file then allows the upload.

Try the following:

Make sure the file name is short with no spurious characters.

Try adding the post/reply and then editing the post and adding the picture. See if it makes a difference.

Try changing the file slightly (Crop or size etc) and then try again.

let me know if any of the above works.

Oh and checked your account all looks to be ok.

Thanks @acprc

I have tried -

Logged out
Cleared cache
Cleared TamiyaClub Cookies
Resized images (now only 300kb, 1080 x 600 px)

Error recurring - will try adding image to this post after submitting reply...

Edit - that worked! I also keep getting the CloudFare "verification" holding page when submitting a reply, could this be connected?

HI both,

I will check in with Chris. There are a few reasons why the Cloudfare verification box appears. I have just posted a thread in the build section and got the same verification.

Just an update (if it helps) I can no longer edit posts either, I get the following message in a pop-up box, even if I try to edit the post in a couple of seconds!

This comment can no longer be edited. It may have been moved or deleted, or too much time may have passed since it was posted for it to be edited.

^ I got that, too, but only when I tried attaching a pic during the edit - it let me edit text only though.

To protect the server all out traffic goes through Cloudflare servers. It has done for years and generally works really well. (If you are using services which don't use cloud flare you should really be asking what they do to protect your data)

I have recently switched some of the settings that should have improved things even further but it looks like it might not have if you are repeatidly getting this 'challenge' screen popping up. I thought you might get it once but then it would be ok. Is the problem still persisting?

Regards

Chris

Thanks. Looks like @netsmithUK is aware of the issue and possibly linked to some recent changes.

Sorry is the warning only popping up when you post pictures or whenever you make any post?

-200 error is still recurring for me :(

I've tried clearing cache, cookies and re-logging in and it's still doing it.

Thanks for your efforts so far though!

BINGO!

...I'm honestly not on TC all day. I've been busy working, it's pure coincidence that 5 minutes after your reply was my next check-in...honest!

I had the problem yesterday with one picture in particular when choosing the size as medium. Eventually I had to choose large as it just wouldn’t accept medium. But the other 2 pics in the post were acceptable as medium. Will try again here with this post

ok it didn’t accept it at either small or medium but did as large. Same pic, just choosing different size on upload from ipad.

This. Don’t know if that helps! Only seems to happen with that single picture though and only at size medium so not really a problem once I realised.

I’m getting the -200 error when trying to send pics as well but only when selecting “medium” for the size.

I have same issue. Curiously, it happens randomly, I used an app to resize and compress pictures below 200kb and some do upload, while others throw -200 error.
