My first Tamiya build has a problem.

It is a lunchbox 1:12.

When turned on the front left wheel turns left while the other one stays straight. The wheel goes out of alignment and the car gives out one short beep.

The transmitter and receiver are Absima, the ESC is  not Tamiya and the servo is from Etronix.

Is this a problem with the servo or transmitter calibration?

And how to fix it?

See picture attached.

thank you.

Did you setup the servo with the power on when you installed the servo horn?   The servo needs a chance to center before you install the servo saver/servo horn.  Not sure if that is the problem, but thought I'd put that out there.

I would unscrew the servo saver, turn on your radio and your car (servo), then install the servo saver back onto the servo with your front wheels straight.

No I didn't. I'm going to try that. Thanks!

This is more than just a servo centering problem. If as it is, but going straight, you will have serious toe out, probably make an unstable car even more unstable.

Turn it around and look at the servo horn with the thing powered on. If it is reasonably straight, adjust the tie rods linking the servo horn on the left wheels so that it is about the same as the right. Test and adjust more, with final fine adjustment on the trim.

Thanks. That's another thing I have to look at. I'm going to give it a try.

Problem seems to be solved. It had all to do with the servo not being centered.

Thank you for your precious help Willy iine and alvinlwh! You are champions.

The after sale dept of the shop we bought it at couldn't even come up with a single answer. Thanks again!

I have one quick tip that crossed my mind but wasn’t the issue that you were having.

when I had my OG lunchbox, I installed a longer servo horn from the M03 chassis. It fit great and allowed for a tighter turning radius.
