These are things that are said or demonstrated through attitudes, in the background, where no one sees.
I proposed to make a twinning with the Tamiyaclub, also because in that period it seemed to me that the Tamiyaclub was having difficulties.
I wanted to propose a win-win deal but they started giggling saying and implying what I said.
As I have written in other posts, I have also been isolated for these things.
On the other hand, they explicitly spoke badly of Rc Kicks.
He obviously wanted to compete on Youtube, and he couldn't.
In the end, the Facebook group was supposed to be a way to make money, I think.
But there are many other bad things related to that group, I have already mentioned them.

I know of a Tamiya Legends on YouTube, is there a Tamiya Legends on Facebook!? I don't know as I'm not a user of Facebook.

Sounds a bit like the usual tribalism that plagues online groups. People can't just be happy that others share a common passion.

I used to frequent car groups for a time, always found it strange how car "buffs" could hate so many cars, or other websites.

I've not seen any animosity between these groups? Everyone here is nice, and there's some nice/helpful people on the Tamiya Legends groups - and Glens YouTube channel is great.

If it wasn't for this thread I wouldn't have even known of any issues - do you have examples? As in links to the posts - not hearsay.

If it’s true that’s a shame. The one thing glen cannot afford is to divide the minimal community he already has. I’d be interested to hear the other sides of the story.

News to me, but I'm not on FB. Websites like this one and TB are a wealth of knowledge, and to me cannot be remotely compared to a simple FB group. Any specific model, part, chassis, etc. research about Tamiya and this hobby steer toward these websites, not FB (for me at least). I've only seen/heard Glen mention the sites in a positive way and credit where it's due while watching his YT videos, so these claims are confusing to me. He obviously leans heavily toward using these sites for research, as i imagine any and all of the YT'ers out there must do.

Actually that is the most common description of fanboys. Same can apply to lipo, brushless, Tamiya, Apple, etc...

You know what, I just read another rant on a different thread from the OP, and I think his "Tamiya Legends" is different than the one we know on YT. If that's true, then the OP should chime in and verify that he's not talking about the Tamiya Legends YT channel that has been established since what, 2016

Oh, and I just started contaminating this site, this year - I thought I was doing my part to share all this awesome stuff!

This was the reason why I would make, at the era, a win-win agreement with the Tamiyaclub but the other admins revealed themselfs.

I can't, I've been banned and can no longer access the FB group in any way.
I have no proof, I just provided information about the Facebook group for members here.
No evidence of course regarding the "allegations" against me that caused me to be kicked out, of course, for the simple reason that they were false allegations.
Anyway, I just wanted to warn the club members that they are not friends of the club.

The other side of the story is that "I'm a homophobe and frustrated because I've been kicked out."
I can bet €500 on it.
Because the false accusation with which I was kicked out is just this.
Made up accusation, assumed homophobia, no evidence, no chance to defend or argue.
But I don't care, that place really was a badword of censorship and hypocrisy. I have no interest in them, I'm just trying to defend Tamiyaclub since I've seen posts about that Facebook group and they talk about it well without knowing what's behind it.

For me, Fb and other fora are a deliberately easy social gateway for ill informed chancers to click a link then be opportunistic (and often rude) to dedicated hobbyists just trying out something new - or thinking it’s a well informed alternative to eBay ?

And if imbeciles could fly, Twitter - or whatever brand Musk is now peddling - would be an airport …

I must admit I find Glenn of tamiya legends on YouTube very inoffensive and only speaks in favour of tamiya club I don’t do Facebook thankfully so I can’t have an opinion on that! But overall I find all these YouTube channels good entertainment and sadly and this is going to be a bit controversial but the only negative thing I’ve had from this hobby is actually on this forum that’s why I have not put much on here of late because there is certain people on this forum who are very abusive (PM’d with abusive email had to report it don’t know if it did any good) after all this is just a pastime with toy cars and in the grand scheme of things isn’t important but certain people take it to the extreme and that puts me right off

Wow! Never would have expected that. I'm not on facebook either so not much "social media" experience but I have found this site to be a very friendly and gentle environment. Well I guess I shouldn't be surprised that a group of men recreating their youth with RC toys can't grow up and act like adults. Dudes, RC cars and nothing more. I've yet to have any "abusive" PMs or anything thankfully, just some silly arguments over my controversial (I guess?) opinions, mostly over on-road cars.

I don't watch Tamiya Legends, so I'm not going to get into that debate. No surprise that some folk are a bit toxic on Facebook, that's why I hardly partake in social media.

But really, why argue about soda can metal or motors when you could be out doing this?

@Tamiyastef yeah it didn’t shock me it takes a lot more than that to do that but I just found it very disappointing because I’ve been a member of this forum for years and the very last thing I would ever want to do is offend or upset anyone on this forum or any forum for that matter it’s just not the done thing and it was/is a very good sanctuary for light hearted conversations from like minded people about a great pastime! But certain members on here take it to the extreme and need to get a bit of a life and i really don’t enjoy saying that but unfortunately that’s what it is🤷🏻
