I am really tempted to get a MB to see how well it will perform against my MG Evo but the Fiat body is not crash friendly. This one looks to be better to be crashing and rolling in.

You may end up disappointed, since the MG Evo is a much more race-bred chassis. It may compare favorably to your M06 though.

Nice to know that the CLK GTR bodyshell is going to be available for a while longer. Being an older car though, I'd rather see it on a TA-03, and have a more recent Le Mans racer on the TC-01.

I hope they put a different livery on the CLK GTR, I won't hold my breath though. Seems only recently we had this re-released anyway on the TT01E.

As for the Alfa, I note the additional "Club" at the end. I'm hoping again that we get a slightly different sticker set.

I'm glad Tamiya is further supporting the TC-01 but unfortunately, I am quite underwhelmed by re-releasing the Mercedes CLK after it was just made available on the TT-01E.

I was really hoping for a new body, something with a low profile enabled by the TC-01. Tamiya has a Porsche license, why not invest a little bit and release a 917k? It would have been fantastic with livery stickers, but even a plain white one would have been an instant-buy (maybe would have bought 2), given the 917k liveries would be easy to custom-make.

That's a shame. Was hoping that Tamiya will finally make a decent budget MTC chassis.

It depends on what you're looking for, I think the M03 (and likely M04) were decent for their time.

What's notable is how few people are talking about the MB-01, I was hoping for more driving impressions from non-freebie owners, and some input on the build. If it's easy like a TT02 or an over-designed nightmare like an M06.

So far only @Willy iinehas given an interesting driving impression. That being that it won't traction roll as easy as an M05 (and destroy the body that you've spent hours on), but it has the turn radius of a bus.

Sorry, haven't been able to build and run as planned. My son opted to paint Warhammer minis instead.

I'm kind of wishing I'd waited now, I'm more of an Alfa fan!

I have built mine and run it. I’ve only bashed it around on the driveway and in the street but I think it handles better than the 06. I have the motor mounted up high and also have a gyro. I really like it. The fiat body is a little bit of an issue but I can live with lifting the front of the bodyshell to alleviate the rubbing. I thought it was quite agile with a perfectly acceptable turning circle for where I use it

Bring on more M bodies please!! I was so excited about the Fiat 131 but I have always thought the Giulia Sprint is too pretty for words. Seems like the new chassis is gonna take the path of the TT02 with all the bodies available which would be super!

Couldn’t agree more. Also so many current opportunities … WEC is currently in a phase of massive manufacturer and fan interest, with Tamiya being close to Toyota I would be happy with a GR-010, let alone all the other LMH and LMDH cars.

Nice the 1:1 Giulia Sprint GTA has always been a bit of a dream car for me but I never really fancied the M-06.

From my limited experience with the M06, it is superior in stability than my M04 with the  Giulia body.. and nice turn radius vs MB01.

Turn radius is a big deal for me and the MB01 in stock form just does not turn sharp enough.   All my other m-chassis have no issue with turn radius.

The MG Evo is on M07 concept level and even slightly better layout and weight distribution than M07.

Hopefully following this we will have the Giulia body set available again.

Club?? Could that be lost in translation for we added ability for headlights and taillights 🤞

Mate, you are too harsh on the M06 lol.. you’re hearting my feelings 🥲

I find the layout of M06 very well thought out, much better than M05 and certainly easier to work on.

I had a recent outing at the track with the M06 and MB01.  My M06, was spot on and did everything I wanted it to do. The MB01 however still needs lots of work. I set it up as FWD. it drove well around the track, didn’t feel competitive due to gearing  as motor combo I had. I will also add, I just don’t like FWD and how it drives.  So I switched it back when I got home, dropped in oil diff with 2k oil, installed 50mm yeah dampers and have it prepped for this Sunday.

I actually think you said that to me before. The MG is cheaper than even a M-05 and yet is better than a M-07.

I was hoping that this new MB is better than any of the old M's but that don't seem to be the case. Maybe I will try an Xpress next.

Tamiya builds chassis with character, sometimes it’s a good thing and sometimes it’s now.

3racing basically made a fwd tc with the MG that uses the M07 gearing internals.

I recently picked up a 3Racing ultra ace and it’s a clone of the Mugen MTC2 at half the price and just as competitive.

I think both could've used a bit more "KISS" to their designs.

I can't get used to FWD myself, no throttle oversteer, braking just "stops" rather than working as a hand brake, it's like I'm handicapped!

Like the previous entry level M chassis and the TT chassis, its meant to be a cheap body holder more than a "high performance machine" (despite claims to the contrary).

Tamiya calls `GrassHopper` a `High performance off-road racer`.. so ... lol
