Good day y’all

Been going back and forth on how I wanted to build up my $5 GS find.

ordered some bearing since this has the plastic ones installed, new tires but might go with another option later.

I figured most would want to keep it factory but I just hate the MSC (didn’t like it as a kid either) started thinking I have a thunder tiger Jackal with some upgraded electronics that basically exploded when I clipped a small bolder that I’ll harvest for the electronics. Nothing fancy but it would move.

Been having some parts trickle in.

received shocks was thinking 80mm would of kept the truck a bit lower so the drive shafts would come out. But it’s just to low.

ordered 95mm should be exact replacements.

tires came in though.

also thinking about a custom paint job.

what you think 80’s heart beat theme?

Well finally received the bearings, longer shocks and a new servo.

Took it apart and rebuilt with bearings.

Planning on making a servo horn addition to help steering and will make a new front bumper out of some metal or aluminum or just trim it up.

After taking it apart this thing looks like it was ran just a handful of times.

I didn’t even have to clean the gears really. But went ahead and did it anyway.

Filling shocks with oil and re-assembly

Need to pick up some double sided tape to secure electronics

will show the servo horn addition once I figure out what I want to do with it.

made the servo addition. Not the prettiest but it’ll work.

Install electronics and tested the steering. Works except the large tires hit the shocks so I moved them to the front of the mount. Seems to work.

the old battery lasted about 10min.

need to adjust the throttle and steering but it’s moving.

next organize wires and play.
later paint the body or cut some vinyl graphics as a temporary solution till i figure it out.

any suggestions for paint I’d be interested in hearing some.

Well decided not to paint the body and just finished it up so I could see how it ran with the brushless. I had to trim around the battery area for the loop to fit.

drove it around and the brushless is just too much and there is too much traction. Had to drive around at about 1/4 to 1/2 throttle anything more just flips it back on it tailgate.

ordered a brushed motor and esc to hopefully take it down a notch and make it a little more fun. Not sure if I’ll keep the tires also?
