Does the empty, "dummy" front bulkhead that takes to the place of the front gearbox on the 4wd variants, offer any kick-up or caster to the front end? (something I know the 4wd versions totally lack). Thanks.

One of the first pics in this thread is of the box and it appears that there is some angle at the front, unlike the rear or the 4WD version

Unfortunately, all my WT-01 / WR-01 bits are buried in a box so I can't help beyond this at the moment :(

According to @Mad Ax in his 50/50 thread it’s about 8 deg. I’m not good at quoting across threads so I’ll link the thread. It’s in the first post.

I had not realized the WT-01n was discontinued

Yeah, I'm starting to see that my plan "C" of resurrecting my old Twin Detonator as a 2wd replacement for my Stampede is not looking good. My rear gearbox mounts are trashed, the chassis is broke and I need that dummy front gearbox which is thin on the ground. I always try to reuse/repurpose rather than just consume more, nowadays, but this might be a lost cause.

Isn’t the gearbox casing the same one used on the WW2 and HCT?

This sounds like it has reached the end of its serviceable life @Saito2 .

Am I right in thinking your ORV Blackfoot went the same way?

No, my ORV Blackfoot is still kicking. I've just been on the lookout for a 2wd truck to beat around without too much guilt. If I relent to 4wd, the Squash Van might have possibilities if I try sticking with Tamiya vs Arrma.
