A rare moment of rest and calm, so I’m going to pretend to myself it’s here to stay 😂

The season is changing and so to some degrees how we hobby will change as well.

For me, the BTCC season ends next Sunday, I’ll pick the gym back up and more importantly my RC plans although modest will be…run the LB, swap over some news parts onto my shelf Queen SS, and make more progress on my stalled vintage runner SS.

As we have now have 3 kids in Uni and 1 on a rowing gap year, RC funds are non existent, but since I have a few models in our spare bedroom it’ll not be an issue (this is me forgetting that it’s just taken me 10 years to finish the LB 😂).

What are your RC plans over the next few months?

Use my SRX, Egress, BBX. Simple really. Theyre not special enough to be shelfers

I also believe Ive got an Avante Black Special on the way. For a Christmas Present. So that will be a shelf build

I'm supposed to be clearing my backlog of unfinished projects, I have a lot of detail painting and final assembly to do. I also want to finally learn how to use that 3D printer that has been gathering dust for most of the past year. I've got some truly silly things in mind for it; I just need to take the time to learn it properly.

I've gone back and forth about new kit purchases. I've decided I can skip the Optima Mid and the Avante Black, because I have too many buggies sitting around with no place to run them, and those are too expensive to just be shelfers. I might yet spring for a BBX as a Xmas/birthday gift to myself, though.

And for some dumb reason I keep looking at that silly Squash Van. I need another plastic fantastic kit like that like I need a hole in the head, but it's calling to me.

Get myself into the deep end, buy a Fat Fox Buggyra and spend the next few months doubting my sanity, buried under a mountain of lexan plastic pieces. :D

No, seriously: I need to sort the M03 Mini Cooper a bit, build the M05 Phat Mini, get off the chair on the Lunch Box/Midnight Pumpkin/Monster Beetle dilemma (which one?). And yes, buy some paint, too.

the outdoor season at my local race club has ended. And the  Mini-z is about to start. But i don't like mini-z. So with a few other drivers i will contineu to ride outside. My TT02 will be rebuild as rallye car. So no matter what weather, we will ride .

I've been thinking back to when I ran my first Super Clod in the snow and I think I'll give that a go again. Looking at those snowy pics from @Ferruz has inspired me a bit and my own Big Boss might see some of the powder too since its sealed up chassis tub is ideal for it.

Its been a struggle to maintain any interest this summer. I haven't picked up a guitar in far too long, but I do hope to get  back into writing my novel once the cold sets in. Oddly enough, where once I craved sunshine, the allure of being tucked away inside during the winter has grown a little bit. I'm sure by the end of it, I'll be begging for warmth again though, lol.

I've sold off some of my collection due to disinterest and be overwhelmed by its sheer size but I think I'm going to have to shake things up a little to refresh myself in the hobby a little bit. So, I'm going to sell off all my Tamiya and replace it with Traxxas and Arrma vehicles. Just kidding ;). Truthfully, I do think I'll let go of a NIB Wild One and a new built Ultima re-re to make room for a BBX and Super Avante. I need something new and Tamiya has put forth genuine effort into improving the quality of their products at that end of the scale. If I can bring myself to let go of a couple more cars, I won't mind a Squash Van or Arrma Gorgon either. Time will tell.

This has been occupying my mind today too.

After a couple of recent track nights at a local(ish) club I intend to keep going as much as possible, what with life and all, and hope to actually improve my terrible driving a little bit. The TT-02 chassis has held up really well to the abuse so far, the body less so.

On the build side I have nothing in the offing so far. I’m still waiting on the F104 to come back into stock so I’m just sat here with some of the Hop-Ups at the moment.
I was looking at a Kyosho today. Space is of the utmost importance in our house so something would have to go to create room and free up partial funds but the Turbo Optima has really caught my eye.

Now i get it.. because i was like who the he11 names a vehicle “gorgon”. But when you actually read it with the brand name… it makes sense lol

Some builds lined up for me - Rising Fighter, Monster Beetle and Wild Willy 2. Nothing that requires spray painting.

I'll run other cars when I can, but it's going to be mostly about the builds I think.

As for short term plans, they are to continue with getting my C11 dialled in so that if I get the opportunity to visit any indoor clubs over Winter, I have a good base setup to work from.

As the weather worsens and daylight becomes a scarce commodity, my activities will be focused primarily on building bodyshells, either from scratch or based on Kamtec ABS mouldings, for next Summer's teapot racing season.

1- Sell off some cars and parts (hopefully will have them listed on here in the next few weeks)

2- build my gorgon kit when it gets here, finally get around to building my M-08 I picked up while in Japan this summer

3- Order a Dirtmaster kit for racing next year and possibly a TRX-4M if funds allow

4- Go Mini-Z racing at my LHS

5- ???

6- Profit (definitely not monetarily)

This year I've bought a single new car, so may get something this Christmas. I've been thinking about that MF01X Pumpkin again.

I may sell off a few cars too.

I've got a Super Avante, and a re-re Boomerang to build. The Boomerang was my first ever RC car, so this one I'm looking forward to. It's also got a nice carbon chassis waiting for it.

Then, I'm really hoping for an Avante Black Edition for Christmas (if I've been good).

In the immediate future, I need to finish my BBX and get that out running.

Maybe get my .19 Dynamite in my new old stock T Maxx broken in before I put away all the nitros for winter.

loads of misc maintenance / minor repairs of various rigs .

perhaps finally get mounts and a body for my tt02.

Finish up my Barbie Vette crawler.

I might downgrade my old stampede to brushed power.

Spend too much time watching RC YouTube when I could b wrenching on something instead.

Decide what I want to try selling off from my collection to justify whatever my next purchase might be.

Oh, and if I win a charity auction for an RC fan boat I plan to take that to some parks and glide over snow.

-Sell off a few cars and spare parts that I don't need. Namely, I'm unloading an extra parts Rustler and the TL01.

-Attempt one of the postal races with the Frog.

-Fit my Castle brushless system to the Rustler. (I'm sure this will go well!)

-Fix the Stampedes front tire (remove, face correct direction), freshen up the shock oil, install bearings in the back wheel hubs.

-Get some track time in, either on carpet or an outdoor off road track that's some ways away. I have a car that'd work on either one.

-Pick up a cheap "indoor" RC, in case if winters heavy and it's too nasty to take my other RCs outside.

-Sort out the ESC on the "Hot Trick" Fox.

-Get back to working on my art some more once winter hits. Fast RCs become glass in the cold.

No particular builds coming up or anything, I'm trying to dial down my collection and fix/improve what I like.

-STOP BUYING FROM BUYEE!

-Restore Team Associated RC10 B3

-Kyosho TF-4 Sports Class Edition rebuild

-TF-4 buggy project

-1/8 Toyota 2000GT interior work and steering rework. Designing and 3d printing and maybe get it running

-Carbon chassis for my Stadium Baja Beetle

-4 touring cars to clean and rebuild

Rustlers handle brushless power pretty well unless it’s a massive 1/8 scale or bigger system.
It was a pretty popular platform for speed runners for a while.
it’s the sudden stops that usually hurt the Rustler.

The ones where the braking force is applied via the front bumper?

I’m no conspiracy theorist, but as a youth I was pretty sure my local hobby shop owner had a seat on city council to determine where curbs storm drain covers were placed.
