Guys,

Maybe this is a crazy idea but here goes - let me know your thoughts. I think this would be fun and interesting for a few weeks of time.

We should have an internal contest for anyone interested. It would involve designing a Vintage Tamiya Car, Buggy or Truck - each individual may choose.

I think the contest at this point should involve designing a vehicle as part of a Typical Vintage Tamiya Box Front. In other words, you think of a Vehicle Name, Draw the fun or neat car as it would appear on the box front complete with stickers, creative driver names and the all the works!!!! (In other words, no inner mechanical workings required at this time.)

Then we all vote on the best one after narrowing down the picks to a handful. Maybe the winner gets a cheap/donated car just for bragging rights!

Then if we all agree the proposed vehicle has potential - we lobby it to Tamiya. Maybe some of our more savvy engineers even draw/cad out the inner mechanical workings if the vehilce really does have potential.

What do you all think, I'm I nuts or would this be fun? Maybe, we allow the contest to go on until, say Nov End? And then along the way we provide updates for each other on drawings or pass ideas back and forth. Even if it doesn't lead anywhere it would be very fun! [:I]

And if you're not artistic, you can still have fun with this! The sky's the limit!

What'ya think, are you game??? Who's up for this?

Count me in for the Tamiya Club - New Vintage Design Contest!!!!!

Who knows where this could lead.[;)]

Regards,

Joe

Sounds a nice idea, wish there will be enough people with enough spare time to participate, I don't have that luxury of time right now[:(][V]

Yeah, I agree that sounds like a terrific idea. The problem is where to start and getting enough time to do this. How would a person be able to compile this something like this? I am not sure of any graphics software within a PC, whereas I am sure that the MAC would probably be better suited..

Just my $.02 worth.
