It keeps asking for my password that I know I'm putting in right.

Recommended Posts

two things -

1. It is an unsecured site when logging in

2. When I put in my password correctly it asks for it again. I reset it recently because that was the only way to login.

I’m having the same issue as well. I haven’t been able to sign in for a while either.

I’ve reverted to using Imgur, but it’s a bit of a pest as I can’t do it on my phone only the computer.

Hopefully @netsmithUK might know what’s going on or @acprc?

I will get @netsmithUK to have a look as I dont have access to the TCPhotos Account details. I can only reset the main site etc. Will drop him a message.

ok

Firstly, TCPhotos is a secure 'site'.

If you visit it by using the url https://www.tcphotos.net then you are also securing the data sent between your computer and the site. This helps prevent 'man in the middle attacks' if you ever use public wifi etc.  If you visit it by typing in http://www.tcphotos.net then you are still visiting the secure site, but your data between your computer and  the site is less secure. Thats not about the site but the protocol between your browser and the site - its the same for all sites. I could set up the http:.// to redirect to the https:// but this would break all the existing links direct to photos if anyone had used the http:// variant

With regard to the password issues. Thats a new one on me and I'll have to look into it. Off the top of my head, and just going back to the above it might be an issue with you using the HTTP:// address rather than the HTTPS:// one, so trying that would be the first thing to do.

Just to be clear, and not saying this is the issue in this case but, TCPhotos and logins are in NO WAY connected to anything you might change on either the main TC site or forums - they are completely independent. Resetting in one place does not affect any of the other logins.

Thanks for the fast reply!  It was apparently the http vs https thing - I typed in tcphotos.net in firefox and it went to the http version, and I wasn't signed in.  I typed in the whole thing starting with https and I went to a secure site with me signed in.  Go figure...

An opportune moment to try it out on a sign I was staring at for an hour and a half on the side of the road waiting for a Mechanic Call Out to come and fix my Truck yesterday 😉
