Short update: the buyee staff stated that oil and grease must also be removed and reiterated that my only option of I want intl shipping is to open the box and remove the items.

So I have allowed this an ask them to either picture or list the items they are removing....

In the next update let's see what happens :)

[Update Jan 7th]

BUyee have sent a list of thing to be removed and identified all grease and oil products in the kit (4 in total) as cannot be shipped intl.

I have opted to remove and discard them and continue to send the opened kit intl...

That is unfortunate. Also thanks for sharing the outcome!

TBH, eventually I think its a small price to pay if you got a good deal for a car that is hard to come by...

in this case, I would do it all over again. of course I assume all will be ok and the package will eventually make it in good condution with all contents (excluding the grease/oil) but that remains to be seen...

The moment of truth has arrived.

My latest Buyee order is currently sitting in UK customs...

It's a consolidated order of a couple of cars (one NIB) and a few hop ups. All in all, if i got charged VAT it could be another £50. Still cheaper than buying in UK and couldn't get many of the bits or one of the kits anywhere else.

Went through the hassle of having to have the grease/oil removed from the box. A process that took them 7 days in the end, even though I agreed to them removing it within one day. Chased it on day three, they said it sometimes takes 3-4 days to process. Chased on day 5 and they said, sometimes it takes 5 days to process it...

Questions for those who have bought complete kits on Buyee.

My M-02L kit arrived at the warehouse but they are terrified by the tiny tube of grease. I told them to discard it which was one of the choices but they came back with this reply:

"We would like to inform you that your package【】contains prohibited item for international shipping, which makes the whole package unable for overseas shipping."

Hopefully they mean only the A parts bag, not the entire kit!

In any case I am hoping to convince them to do the unthinkable and open the A parts bag, discard the grease and ship everything else normally.

This is my first (and probably last) time buying a whole kit on Buyee. Any tips from anyone to help me save this super rare NIB beauty?

Without the A parts bag the car is not really buildable as a lot of the tiny parts will be next to impossible to track down 😕

Thanks!

I have bought many complete kits from Buyee, got to be 20+, 2 arrived this week, 1 still sealed with all oils/grease still present (CC-02) , no email stating it was prohibited and the other I had to get them to remove the damper oil, after they sent the prohibited email, they are very hit and miss on this subject. They do just remove the prohibited item and nothing else.

I checked back on previous emails and the prohibited item email always states the whole package can not be shipped, but once they have removed the offending item, they email to notify you its been done and to log in to your Buyee account to select the shipping method.

The weird thing is I got a first email about the grease saying I could just ask them to discard the grease. Then 3 days later a worrisome second email, that I pasted above, this time mentioning that they had to discard "the whole package".

That's hopefully a quirk of their system and it's probably going to be fine. Thank you for the info. I'll keep everyone posted.

I have lived in Japan and I know their commitment to doing everything respectfully and "perfect" can sometimes lead to some nonsense. I was worried they would be terrified of opening a parts bag as it would then be "tempered with". That would not surprise me at all.

Anyway, it's probably going to be fine.

So my fist time ordering from Buyee, bought old used discontinued nitro touring car at a good price with all the cool vintage afternarket parts that was only available in the Japanese market back then.

Thinking to myself this is great, so I also bought some parts for it, then bid and won more used nitro cars. That is until when it's time to ship to me,  2 of my nitro cars was shipped ready to be exported by EMS then all of sudden both was returned to Buyee warehouse.  Buyee trying to figure out why, but said it may take weeks to communicate with EMS for return reason. So I been thinking hard, what did go wrong. I then come to a conclusion that you probably can't ship engine via air even it's model RC engine. So I changed the shipping method to ship to USA via Sea mail it should be okay right? as it's going by sea even real car engines are ship by sea. Wrong, my package got returned back to Buyee again. This is so frustrating. not only that, one of the nitro car is only a roller so there was no engine included.

Buyee's response was package contains prohibited item (engine, oil tank) I assume that's fuel tank and these need to ship to local Japanese address or dispose of them, but these nitro cars are vintage hasn't been used for a while, there's not even a drop of fuel in it.

Not only that I'm currently bidding 2 more vintage nitro car and I can't retract my bid now... $700 worth or merchandise stuck at buyee.  I going to ask if they can remove the engine and the fuel tank and hopefully let me ship these out.

This mean huge loss, by removing engine it could means that I will lose the flywheel, 2 speed clutches and tune pipe as I doubt they know how or have the tools to remove it seperately and those are hard to come by as parts. I haven't have good sleep for weeks trying to figure this out. Lesson learned.

From now on I'm only buying small parts only
