Top Force 2017 (47350) back for another run...

I think the point is that if you want a DF-01 the TF Evo is the daddy of the line and there are plenty still sat on shelves, so it's likely that anyone who wants one has one already.  You can get the Evo for around £300, the TF in 2024 is going to be £250ish?  I can't see it selling very well at all.

It's similar for the regular Egress also coming next year.  £525 when you can get the Black Edition for £400.

There will be heavy discounts on both of those in mid- to late- 2024 I reckon...

Not a bad prediction by me, Modelsport are listing the price of the regular Top Force as £249...

Thats a big price hike over the last run. I'm pretty sure I paid NZD400 in a combo deal with hicaps, which puts the kit about NZD300. GBP250 is roughly NZD500 atm. Its strange as other kits like the Boomerang are pretty similar in price to the last run

I believe it was around £200 last time, so a fair hike. I think a lot is about positioning though, it has to be more than a Hotshot II this time around?

A few UK shops now have this kit listed for pre-order but most noticeably Tamico does not.  I wonder why - they have the regular Egress....

I asked this question to Tamico about another kit. They said they wait until they have delivery confirmation and an accurate arrival date before opening pre orders.

That makes perfect sense, thanks for the info.  Good to know :)

I thought so. Seems like an honourable business practice. A rare thing these days😬

Up for pre-order at Tamico now, and a lot cheaper than we're getting it here in the UK...

Got three more to go. Have these on pre order. Top Force, HotShot II the orginal Egress. I have two Evo Top Forces. This one may be a runner.

What are some good hop for Top Force re-re?

I don't think it comes with bearing, so that would be a must have.

I am thinking aftermarket turnbuckles.

the car is not for racing, just general driving around. and will be running brushed motor with NiMH.

I'd suggest:

  • 0.6 mod steel pinion
  • metal motor mount (TA-01 version from Tamiya or Yeah Racing)
  • bearings (850 x10, 1150 x16)
  • 12mm hexes in metal
  • Tamiya 4WD plastic gear set (50529) to remove the aluminium gear in the kit
  • Turnbuckles (various sizes required, see the manual)
  • If you're using the standard CVA shocks you may want to upgrade the internals using piston rods (19805917) x4, 2mm e-clips (50588) x8 and pistons (found on various sprues for CVA shocks)

btw, what is the shade of green on the decal? wondering if there is a matching paint for the color.

They wear easy, better to have plastic throughout  :)

The decal is just a darkened "window tint". The canopy windows should be masked off as shown in the manual or whatever body color is used will show through the decal (albeit darkened from the tint effect). Any green in the pic is probably just reflection of the surrounding body color.

I think the poster is asking about the green on the decals with the yellow and red sections?  If so, I'm not sure why you'd want to match the body with the paint.  Just cut the decal to remove all the green so the body paint shows if that's the look you're after?

If you're only getting one, I think so, unless you have some spare parts lying around (bearings, turnbuckles etc) then you can save a few quid if you're only zooming round the park.

You get 90%+ of the Evo for potentially 2/3rds of the price if you buy right.

I see this starting to pop up in most hobby shops now for pre order so it must be close. Ive never had one before so will be picking one up in this round.
