This is the 2nd track I have made so I thought I'd try and document it as I'm considering making another so any tips, tricks or advice can be considered for future reference.

My 1st attempt.

Pros.

Runs well.

Can stand in space in middle of the track.

Cons.

6 pieces to line up as the inside lane was a later addition.

Needs better method of joining up the separate pieces.

2nd attempt started from scratch with nothing but pictures of the old one for reference which I didn't use.

Then, I think I ruined it with sticky back plastic, the black was ok, but the tin foil is just too shiny. But I did make a starting box and a little jump.

Biggest Con, it's very difficult to stand in the middle of this track.

And it only goes in one direction because of the way I've joined the track.

Next one's not started yet but it's in the planning stages and I'm thinking of trying a new style of lane changer.

This online track editor is great but I don't have 150metres of space so I'll just study the bits I plan to include next time.

Latest video,

A few upgrades to track, removed the middle lane, originally it was supposed to go round the inside lane but the corner was too tight and it wouldn't go round, so had to "soften" the corner, achieved this by making the banked corners. Had to make 2 or the track wouldn't have worked.

Some say, when he's not modifying stig introductions and Chuck Norris jokes to suit the Clodbuster, he makes stuff that he thought about,....

All we know is he's absolutely bonkers.

And he made another track.

I use Imgur to host my pictures and videos, and I get 1/2 million views on there and loads of *likes but it seems to be successful on YouTube, you have to really annoying, or you have to display unimaginable wealth.
*Imaginary bonus points/ similar to the imaginary holiday I win at every social event at my employment so far.

Mini 4WD has never been a very popular toy in this country due to the import charges, but if more people made their own tracks, it would gather popularity.

I'm planning to copy, (no, erm, not copy, that might attract copyright issues) use the next image for inspiration to do another.

I'm pretty sure it's going to turn into a particle accelerator, a hadron collider or a time machine by the time I'm finished.

Loop coming soon.

Bring on summer so I can go and play with my mini bike again. Lol. Erm, I mean perfect the mini bike to make it safe and suitable for the kids.

I decided to combat the visibility issues by fitting LED's to the car!!!.

The only LED's I had are 6-9 volts I believe!!

The car runs on 3 volts.

I began by running the car on 3 volts as normal with the*additional battery running the lights. *2s lipo@7.4 volts.

Then, I had the fantastic idea to run the car from the lipo battery on more than double the cars intended specification. Hehehe.

Oh, man!!!!!!, it shot off like a bullet, whizzing round the track, tearing up the paper as it went, then the battery slipped off the car from its less than adequate temporary mounting position and it started dragging the battery behind at lightening speed.

By the time I put my hand in a lane to catch it, it was already a lap ahead and after missing the catch at least twice, it crashed and I managed to grab it and disconnect the battery.

I didn't manage to get a decent video of these events which means I'll have to do it again as this story is meaningless without proof.

Lipo power

I think the car may need a few *new parts before another launch attempt. But if you don't test until failure, how can you improve?

*Stripped a pinion gear and killed a motor, didn't even get any magic smoke :(

I'm not just playing with toys, it's science, honestly...........

Particle accelerator machine in progress.

Lol

Have a great day
