Tamiya Clod Buster Tribute

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone. I decided to go retro on this new Clod Buster. I still have my 1988 custom Clod I did and the two Super Clods, Black Edition and Grey Edition. I love Blue and always wanted to do one with the old school decals. MCI made that possible. I put a JX Brushless servo in it, a Spektrum SR315 receiver, Led headlights, tail lights and rock lights. Stock HobbyWing esc which is super smooth and quiet. Rides on FastEddy bearings. Hope you like.

Great looking Clod, the blue ist truly a very nice colour. Is that Tamiya paint?

When I remember correctly does your Custom Clod Sport some nice CCP parts?

Cheers

Hey there. Thanks! Yes, Tamiya Mica Blue and some Tamiya clear over it. It turned out great for me. Maybe 4-5 coats of the blue. The Grey Clod with the pink stripes in my showroom, yes, all CCP parts and SEES aluminum wheels.

Some say that the Clodbuster is so powerful, when you jam the throttle, it doesn't travel forwards, it actually pushes the world backwards, all we know is that it's called the Clodbuster.

If I ever get a Clod, I’d like to go a similar route and use MCI repro decals. On the hard body and probably do up a spare body in lexan.
Yours is a nice looking rig for sure. Love it

A Tamiya classic, maybe I need one.  Myself, I think i'd leave the chassis stock except for maybe shorter motors and have different bodies. Still, you can't argue with the looks of this thing!
