Hi,

Do you use CA glue on carbon parts edges? I think mainly about shocks towers.

I think in Buggy it is must have, because towers are not covered by body.

What about Touring or Rally cars?

I get the impression that it's become less necessary as the material has improved over time. So I have used it on most exposed edges but often not bothered where it's not exposed. On my own cut and sanded edges they just don't look like they'd delaminate so thus far I haven't bothered (and they're generally more exposed than a touring car tower). On my Optima Mid I have a couple of spots where the CA glue has stained white on a drip, which is a downside.

I use Tamiya plastic model cement.. and reapply as necessary.  No white dusty spots.

But if you don't drive in mud or wet conditions (or your area is dry) there is really no need to cement the edges.   It's mostly to keep moisture out and prevent fraying..  I don't apply on my mostly-indoor cars these days.

Frayed edges in carbon is cause by either flaws in the material, or the edges being unfinished after manufacture.  If they are rough, I will sand them to a smooth (or even polished) finish, but I never add CA (or other glue) unless there is damage or an inclusion.  Adding a thin layer of CA might add a small amount of impact protection, but isn't worth the effort (and risk of screwing up) for me personally.
