Soldering Required

Recently purchased the Hobbywing XeRun XD10 PRO Drift Sensored Brushless ESC however, the connection bullets require soldering before being connected to the motor.

So I've just ordered a decent soldering station but can anyone recommend and link me a decent solder to use, any tips or tricks to do a decent job etc?

clean tip, right solder, right flux, and solder station settings. 

Use a third hand to hold the pieces steady.

Practice with some spare wires and connectors. When you go to solder the bullet connectors on your esc dont heat the wires for more than a couple seconds to avoid damage.

I suggest you get some 60:40 rosin core solder.. Amazon has them.  GL @Mr. G!

 

I also recommend getting some QuadHand on Amazon as well.  Very convenient to hold the wires, etc.

I tried some banggood solder which appeared to be the right spec but it was terrible. Splashed out on loctite brand solder and its night and day difference. Cost heaps, but will last years and is well worth it. I got it from a local shop who recommended the right one for the job. Its loctite 511 5C

Thanks all for the help. I've ordered 60/40 solder. This is the ESC I'm going with and what I can see on the unboxing is that the bullets are different to that shown above. Another thing that I need advice on is LiPo connections.

Returning to the RC scene and plan on using LiPo for the first time. So I've settled on the following gear, battery and charger. Now the battery requires a 5mm connection and wondered would this work coming from ESC to battery. Next, the charger I've chosen comes with no cables, would this work to provide charge to the battery?
