Thank you Tamiya for Bringing Back So Many Rereleases

Recommended Posts

Just completed organising my RC collection with lots of Tamiya rereleases.  What would you like Tamiya to rerelease next?  Drop your wish list and comments about the video below.

Thanks for making my NIB collection (Egress, Avante) basically worthless.

What I learned is only buy annivarsary cars with an actual printed number (ie:  60th Annivarsary) for NIB collection.

Sorry if this is a stupid question willy line but why does it make your NIB collection worthless.

I had no idea there were so many variations of each m-chassis!!

I wish there were more 1:10 Group C cars - the current LM Hypercars would be nice as theyre much nicer to look at than the previous gen LMP1 cars

Yeah, for those that missed out on the releases for sure..  but silly dumb me, thought it would hold value if I had these Egress and Avante rere's in my collection NIB..

@Super ally Well if anyone can buy them since Tamiya keeps re-releasing them (ie: Egress/Avante), then it's not worth anything to me now as a collector's item.  They're just another kit I bought with intention to build.. Honestly a waste of money.

Well I'll take it off your hands if it's truly "worthless"!

I...can't quite follow your logic, there's nothing wrong with a kit being mass produced.

If you don't plan on selling them, what does their value matter?

I think it's great that Tamiya keeps releasing stuff. Give everyone a chance to get one.

Actually my intention has always been to sell to the person that really wants one down the road when these are no longer available... unless my built car needs spare parts beforehand..

I'm not going to buy any more for my NIB collection unless it's an anniversary edition if from Tamiya.  It's a waste of money.

Apart from the evolution of the series of M-chassis there were special editions of the M03s. Then the odd numbers of the series were front wheel drive like M05 and even numbers became rear wheel drive like M06. Then there are the R top of the line versions.

Yeah, the Hypercars look good.  As the series is having a revival, hope Tamiya joins in as well.  At least make the Toyota and the Ferrari as those would sell well.  😊

T-Studioworks,

This is a good hobby & you are a good embassador to it. Been to Stargek many many times & spoken to the boss quite a few times. He used to be a traveling sales man that went from town to town seeking dealers for toys. These places included the place where I stay on the island of Borneo.

Many of the kits in the vid have a 'include extra parts' sticker on them.

What's that about?

Thank you Joeling,

Yes the boss / Uncle is a good chap.  His son is also great to deal with and the staff are always helpful & friendly.  Stargek is a fantastic shop.

I was so amazed at how complete the shop was with Tamiya kits, hop-up parts & spares when I first arrived in Singapore in 2007.  Since then I’ve been slowly buying kits that I think I would like to collect & build.

We should help the brick & mortar / physical shops as much as we can.  If not they will slowly shrink & disappear.  And I and others will  never again have that feeling of stepping into a shop like Stargek & thinking that we have gone to heaven.

Some of the kits that are the 1st production run had bonus parts included.  For the Avante Black Special, there were extra black Egress lightweight rims because the standard were pink in colour.  For the Super Hotshot, the bonus part were white lightweight wheels.

i think Tamiya did this to differentiate the 1st production runs to make them more special even if it was a rerelease knowing that there would be subsequent production runs of the rerelease.
