Chrome body question - strip off the chrome

Anyone ever remove/strip the chrome off a Pumpkin body? If so how did you do it?

 

How clean is the body afterwards?

 

My thoughts on these questions are the OG pumpkin bodies were made in white plastic. I’d like to have one in white without paying the ridiculous price online for one. So the obvious answer would be to strip the chrome off one. Thoughts?

If it is the same chrome coating that gets applied to the smaller plastic chrome items like bumpers, wheels and mirrors etc - this can be quickly and easily removed by soaking in a pot of household bleach.

Bleach or oven cleaner.

You can use DOT-4 brake fluid or floor polish remover. It is like very light acrylic lacquer remover.
