and will need to create a KR m-chassis to run these beautiful new bodies

The XM-01 looks like great starting point for that 😀

I don't like the MB chassis

Bodysets will be available in the near future if Tamiya keep on doing things the Tamiya way :)

Interesting.  I'm intrigued by the XM-01, although I don't really have any desire to own one, it's great to see continued love for rally cars from Tamiya.

I have to confess to being disappointed by the Baja Bronco.  My first thought was that it would be an early Bronco body with a cage and racing modifications, maybe even an open top like the old Blazer.  And maybe even the chassis would have some more racing-oriented parts installed.  I didn't know the Ford Baja Bronco was officially a thing, but having read up on it, I think they've missed the mark there too.  OK, it was broadly just a standard Bronco with a few extra bits, but the show photos don't show the cactus catcher bumper or the spare tyre carrier or the exclusive Baja Bronco spare tyre cover.  It's just a body with some special stickers.  I'm guessing it will be pre-painted, which is the only way you could differentiate this model from a generic Bronco on the CC-02 chassis.  It's a cool-looking car and a nice colour scheme, but feels like a bit of a non-thing to me.

I did think of Tamico!

I can't remember where I got my XV-02 kit from but that was reduced plenty, so it does happen. I think I will pick this up if I see one at a really good price. It is probably also the case that this would need no hop ups at all, so there's £50 of value right there.

Mine would get my MKII escort shell. In white with a bit of blue I think, but in a privateer sort of way rather than a known livery. Or possibly Fiat 131 box art (if mine ever arrives).

You wash your mouth out with soap, stand facing the corner and just think about what you said there!!

and here's something to read while you think about it! (copied from https://kentech.wordpress.com/2024/01/30/tamiya-xm-01-pro-chassis-kit-first-info/)

Examples of compatible Hop-Up Option Parts

22046: XV-02/TT-02 Ball Differential Set (39T)
22047: XV-02/TT-02 Front Direct Coupling Set (39T)
22048: XV-02 Slipper Clutch Set
22049: XV-02/TT-02 Oil Gear Differential Unit
22050: 06 Module Spur Gear (70T) for XV-02 Gear Differential (Use with Item 22049 XV-02/TT-02 Oil Gear Differential Unit.)
22053: XV-02 Aluminum Spur Gear Holder
22055: XV-02 Aluminum Adjustable Suspension Mount (XH)
22056: XV-02 Aluminum Damper Stay Mount

@Mad Ax the  biggest disappointment for me is the DS... Especially now, when Tamiya has several options to create long and narrow chassis to fit DS proportions, putting it at the same chassis as the 2CV just seems weird...

Hangs head.

I wasn't counting the triple cardan joints, blue anodised 24 carat titanium screws or carbon fibre body clips, obvs.

Opel Kadett C Coupe, this is great news.

Not sure about international markets, but within Germany, this will be a huge success.

I retract my previous Futurama meme.

I can't afford that :(

It's € 275 at Tamico, still steep for an M sized chassis but a lot better than £ 390

When measuring the wheelbase of both cars here on the picture, they appear to be the same? Might be the angle the picture was taken in? Otherwise Tamiya isn't far off putting them on the same chassis?

It's a Pro version, those are always more expensive. It's still slightly cheaper than XV-02 Pro, which is almost the same car

2CV has 2400mm wheelbase, DS 3100mm. DS is almost 1m longer overall.

To really have a "scale" Citreon, it has to be on a chassis that mimics their notoriously unique suspension design of the time. I've had the (misfortune) of driving a 2CV, and it's nothing like any of the M chassis.

The Bronco looks neat, but I'm mixed on the CC-02. Here's where I'll throw AE a bone and admit that I'm okay with bronze bushings on a crawler, I'm not okay with plastic bushings.

The XM-01 looks like a good parking lot car, but I'm hoping it'll retail for $200. Otherwise it'll be pricey for what it is.

I really wonder what they were thinking at Tamiya. I appreciate that making the DS true 1:10 scale would have required a new chassis or an extension to an existing one, but now it comes on the MB-01 in L-configuration (239mm wheelbase), which makes the wheelbase of the model 1:13 scale and the width 1:11 scale, whereas the clearly distorted proportions reveal that the body has at least two different scales. If Tamiya had put the body on the BT-01 chassis, 1:12 scale would have been possible, and it would probably be enough space to get the proportions correct too.

I've had the Citroen DS from the Spanish toy company Paya on my wishlist for years after first seeing one converted to RC with Wild One suspension. The Paya DS is about 1:12 scale and very hard to find, so when I first saw the Tamiya DS, I thought I would finally be able to build a DS Rallye Monte Carlo contender, but I dropped it from my "wishlist" once I saw the poor proportions. I would have expected a lot better from Tamiya than this.

Btw, Paya made their DS from 1960 to 1969. Admittedly Paya didn't have to make the body fit a specific chassis, but they made the molds half a century ago and the overall proportions are still absolutely superior to Tamiya's DS.

At first I was very happy about the Goddess. But then I was disappointed with the scale. My Golf MK1 Gr. 2 is the only car that I could put next to it without the DS looking ridiculous. I would have to set up an extra corner for 1:12 scale. The good thing is that the Golf wouldn't feel ashamed of being so small anymore. 😀
