With all the new M-chassis size rally cars as of lately and the new XM-01, I hope Tamiya comes out with an "M-chassis" specific rally cockpit set.   While the current one can be made to work, I'd prefer a size specific one.

The release everyone has been waiting for

1000011528.png

Tamiya is pleased to introduce the Super Penguin, based on our Td2 chassis.  We will shortly be following this release up with the Super Polar Bear based on our ever popular Td4 chassis.

They could of put every up hopup available in a kit with a new color scheme and come out with a super astute, that would not of been hard to do

This is a good point!

Any one think that we'll see any new cars tomorrow thst Tamiya have saved for the last day as a  real treat??

I thought about that too. Especially as someone mentioned the Porsche 959 in connection with the XM-01. That would be nice.

But did that happened in the last years? Were they present something new on the last day of the fair?

I don't think so.

I also think we're a bit spoiled. We've got a new chassis (finally a 4wd M chassis!), we've got a new TRF (!) full size touring chassis, we've got a new 1/14 scale truck, we've got new gorgeous bodies (Kadett and DS - I've seen some footage of it running and IMO it's not a blob of Citroën but a real Godess), new rere bodies as the NSX, new rerere's like the Mantaray (good news for people who are driving the previous rere and need spares) and Clodbuster black. The only disappointment for me personally is their interpretation of the baja Bronco.

Though as much. Nothing new in the way of buggies. Was hoping for a TD4 refresh or something. But, I guess they're still riding the wave of the BBX... for now.

It would be cool to see some TC members take on the various liveries we saw that Racing NSX NA1 come out with:

58207 Avex Dome Mugen: (*Different Wing Design*)

58233 Castrol Mugen:

58254 Raybrig NSX '99 (*Different Wing Design*)

58262 Raybrig NSX '00 (*Different Wing Design*)

And whilst the aero is incorrect, it wouldn't be a stretch to create the Le Mans NSX entry as it's quite a straightforward design:

My wallet is safe as well. I was really hoping for a TD4 clad in a body less offensive than the "Super Avante" but no luck. Now, with the TD4 oddly missing from Tamiya's home site, it makes one wonder if the buggy even has a future (which is unfortunate). Nice to see the Manta Ray back I suppose. Hope the motor mount/driveshaft upgrade parts come back too.

It's still alive and well on Tamiya Japans' site:

Maybe they've just decided that it's doesn't sell anywhere else in the world. Having said that, I have watched loads of Japanese videos about the TD4,. and when you translate the comments, they have the same criticisms about the buggy as everyone else...

I'll be certainly getting the XM-01 *if* I can put my Golf mk2 Body on it?

It supports all three wheelbases, including 239mm used for Golf

Don’t know if this is news from the Nuremberg toy fair but I thought it was very interesting nonetheless! It’s mugen seiki first dip into the world of 1/10th 2wd buggy racing!.
i was heavily into 1/8th nitro buggy racing back in the day and my choice of buggies was the mugen mbx5 then mbx6 and mx6T simply because they were superb racing machines and the quality was on another level, they were expensive but definitely ahead of the rest so if this is anything like their 1/8th buggies which I’m thinking has every chance it is then this is going to be a game changer and definitely give Schumacher and xray a run for their money and for future collectors the first ever 1/10 buggy from a top shelf rc manufacturer;)

I still race 1/8 Mugen buggies, in 2013 I was lucky enough to have dinner with Sanada San in Tokyo and I did mention that they needed to get into 1/10, so It’s only taken 10 years, but I’m claiming credit for this release :P. Just waiting for Koji to send me my free one :D

Yes. The TRF420 was released at the end of 2019.

This new TRF421 chassis looks like it won't share a lot of parts with its predecessor.  Unlike the 415/416/417/418/419 and other TA/TB and FF cars, they share many other parts. Although suspension arms looks similar to the TA-08 on this one.

I just did a web search for the CC02 Baja Bronco and found this. Anyone know if this was a package, or was Tamiya inspired by a one-off build?

I'm sorry, but I simply can't stop whining about the new Tamiya Citroen DS. Meanwhile I've found the significant dimensions of the model and the scale varies a lot.

Length: 1/11.5 scale

Widtn: 1/9.0 scale

Height: 1/10.7 scale

Wheelbase:  1/13.1

This indicates deviations in proportions roughly as below. Because the length scale is quite different from the wheelbase scale, the body obviously varies in scale along the longitudinal axis. Not knowing exactly how it varies, I didn't take this variation into account. However, the "Tamiya" version in the drawing below has a wheelbase of about 270mm (correct for the 419mm length), whereas the actual model has a 239mm wheelbase, so the proportions are in reality even more distorted.

That said, the model will, like the real car, have a narrower track rear than front, and with an overall width (front) like a pretty wide touring car, my guess is that the DS comes with MB-01 rear suspension and BT-01 front suspension.
