The XM-01 fanbase or general info on this new pro chassis 58738

42168 TRF Touring Car Short Spring Set is a perfect fit, 5mm shorter and is even black. To my hyper-accurate NASA calibrated fingers, the med spring feels about the same, perhaps a little stiffer, the soft spring feels softer.

They did have some hard to find discontinued Tamiya bodies shells listed when I looked a while ago (Mini included). Might still be there?

I'd be happily surprised if they are official Tamiya bodies after all this time.

They are. Seidel only sell Tamiya parts, except for some Carson parts and Futaba electronics. But they don't ship abroad, even not in the EU.

Oh wow, it's a shame that they don't ship internationally then.

So my L&L 959 didnt go to plan and is in the bin……

Ive noticed this Kamtec one

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/313121420103?itmmeta=01J2RGTDFYY5WB3DWFEFQG6QVE&hash=item48e77db347:g:QrIAAOSwamZe7fi0&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAAwFnuyt2MQVZfWlIPDnqLxk3slgZhxDPj%2FmsLG9JKH0TosE4VnnEf8YQScxr0JSpKf5ejrPscD2%2Fk2c909W1lAyk3mnu%2BUSa9SIjueBlZBVy%2BsDMT8mIi%2Boml3FD9CkQrBZOiQ3EiumDrY6E8Ak%2FptzSF999wWqleRV61MyGRUrNBG9HmvB%2FxNlvqKs%2F6sj9dna7c74KO6IwUn%2Fa8R4YZOSkSa2UHGCzkvdsBhzH6PMbmxeKtQ6hoVLWiuBc6bAaAsA%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR4bY6ZCWZA

Its different, it doesnt tuck under so much at the front. Obviously the L&L is closer to the original but Im not skillful enough to mask the L&L properly in this area (hence the bin) so would this Kamtec one fit the XM-01? Also, would my decals etc fit with it? Thanks

Are there maximum dimensions for the batteries mentioned in the manual? Can anyone of post them here? I'm not at home now but saw a great deal on some batteries hence the question.

I don't know about dimensions, but I can tell you that my Lectron Pro batteries don't fit because the cables are on the corners. My rounded ProTek battery with the cables in the center fits fine, as do both of my racing packs with bullets.

27x140mm

I ended up going with shortly packs, it keeps the weight up front and fits perfectly (with a spacer)

So 26 x 47 x 96 shouldn't be a problem, thanks!

For less than € 20 a piece I ordered these

Managed to get the soldering done this morning  before the patio heats up and with that, chassis is done, pending the obligatory slow march of hop-ups... and a body of course.

I keep looking at a 17.5t Justock @Wystan Withers, good to know the XR10 ESC fits in there 👍🏻 But I do have the smaller footprint HW10BL60 ESC in the spares box anyway now.

How is it with a 25.5t? Big pinion?

Haven't done more than scoot down the hall to confirm it works as of yet, it was just the motor/esc I had on hand. I installed it with a 24t pinion since I didn't have a 25, chart says it wants 66mm of roll out, which if I did the math right falls between 24t and 25t with the 70t spur. There's a little notch in that rear corner of the chassis that looks like it was designed for this ESC :) If you run the fan, it is too tall on the stock platform to fit under the dust cover, so I trimmed the posts off so it was just a flat shelf, then had to add 2mm spacers to clear the receiver... leaves several mm under the dust cover now. Your mileage will vary a bit based on your receiver height if you mount it under the ESC per the manual, but if you're going to run a shorty battery that opens up some room over on the other side of course.

I can confirm that the Justock XR10 fits really well.

Proper weave CF arrived, almost, almost ready for prime time. Some tiny adjustments still needed, hoping the next pair will have the magic.

EDIT: Samantha twinkled her nose, the magic happened, Final Form achieved. Listing in the appropriate forum incoming...

I've been eyeing those too... I think some creative bends will be necessary. I tried M03 front stabs on it and the width is perfect, they align with balls in the arms but should be a few mm longer (protrude deeper towards the center on the chassis) and they contact the drive cups. My gut tells me when they release the bars for the XM they will have that step in center to raise it a couple mm like the TA-04 rear bar had or maybe be a bit wider to clear the drive cups and bend inwards to reach the balls.

I assume they have it already designed since they included the balls in the initial design and not as an afterthought so time will have to tell.

EDIT: Things get stuck in my head so I cracked open the parts tubs again. The M03 bars kickup is enough to clear the drive cups if installed properly but get in the way of the dampers. So if a fella were to get ambitious and bend a pair, the bars would have to remain narrow and hug the gearbox a bit to get past the dampers, then kick out only once past them.

What's F/R weight distribution? Looks like all the heavy components are in front of the centerline, so it might be usable as a FWD.

LF 347g; RF 337g; LR 318g; RR311

F/R 684/629

That's with the shorty battery at 210mm so YMMV.

Re-bugged- if you haven't cut that body yet don't... I'm working on a rear damper stay with an adjustable body post offset- simply swap in different height standoffs to move the posts wherever you like, fore or aft. I'm stuck waiting for bits to arrive to do the detail work, but it's coming.

A nice video about the XM01 Pro. By the way, he also uses the DCJs and shows the combined parts. 🙂

Had the chassis done for a while, finally got to work on the body. The camel yellow from roof down is all decals.  A lot of work.. soapy water and heat gun are a must

Love the Fiat 131! How did you build the front and rear differentials? 39t/40t? Which oil? Did you install a center differential? Do you use the kit wheels and tyres?
