The XM-01 fanbase or general info on this new pro chassis 58738

I think we should petition Schumacher to make M-Chassis SST Mini Pins. That's what I've been using on my XV-02 and they're perfect for the dirt track I run on. I'd love to get the same grip from my XM-01.

I'm surprised that after 4 months we haven't seen more spares released for this, YeahRacing has released a few upgrades before Tamiya has even released the chassis as a spare.

I remember it taking them ages to release spares for the xv02. I just think it's how Tamiya do things.

edit: TTP have the chassis in stock:

I figure that the least they could do is publish a list of which parts it has in common with the XV-02.

They have (indirectly). You can just download both manuals, and option parts sheets and compare.

XM-01 Manual:

I've never seen the option part sheets on the Tamiya website! I generally go to the page for the chassis and click the link to spare parts or option parts, and currently the link to option parts is blank.

It's nice to see that the DCJs appear in the list. It's the same combination of parts that we found out in this thread. The explanation for number 12 at the very end of the list is a bit confusing though.

Yep. That's what I've bought for my build. Hope it all works out.

I reckon they've split kits tbh as no where else is offering these

I'd doubt that. They'd be left with loads of stuff no one wants.

I wonder why no other places are offering these then or even have them listed as an option to order.

It is odd. Maybe TTP just put in a pre-order for spares early and everyone else is waiting for them to be in stock at the distributors before they order them to stock. I dunno.

edit: Just checked TTP's website. Usually you can't order more of an item than they have in stock. BUT with the XM-01 chassis it lets me add 250 to the basket. So I assume they've listed them and if they do sell one, then they'll break open a kit. I guess.

I reckon they are buying these it at around £150 landed, I've got zero proof of evidence of this figure it's a guess. Asiatees is currently charging £180 shipped (no import tax factored in). If you can split the chassis up you'll easily cover my guessed figure that...

Chassis £28

Hubs £10

Bumpers £10

Chassis extenders £18

Gear box case X2 £40

Drive shafts £34

Spur £6

Diff case X2 £18

Centre drive shafts £10

Axels X2 £26

Diff internals £18

= 218

This isn't factoring the the shocks (£50), chassis protector (£15), wheels + tires (£15)  and then no doubt another £25 for the hardware £323, doubling your money isn't bad 😂

I also fitted the carbon fibre shock towers. Probably unnecessary but they look nice. The only issue is the mounting point for the mud gards makes it difficult to attach the ball nuts.

I've also removed the brushed combo really for a brushless upgrade!

I'm not sure who cares, but the Rally Cockpit set (54419) fits this body, without additional trimming and with the chassis cover in place. So, have fun with that.

That is good to know.   While I don't have an XM-01 (yet....??  ^_^), I do have the Fiat 500 and an extra rally cockpit in the shop.

The XM01 is overly generous when it comes to mourning your ESC and RX so I had to get creative 🤣

I've also fitted standard M chassis shocks to lower the ride height, it's now around 6mm front and rear.
