work better than MF-01X

From what I've seen of it in action it's absolutely working better than any MF-01X

I meant specifically the high/low suspension settings. Overall, the car cannot be worse than MF-01 😃

@Alex97 That center differential is on my wishlist 🙂

I've already got mine waiting, I ordered it from RcJaz or RcMart as it worked out at less than £25 delivered Vs £35 from the UK. The spurs were about £2 from Plazajapan so I ordered a few. As I was in no hurry for them waiting 2 weeks wasn't an issue.

Anyone got any more news on then these might be shipped (UK specifically).

I've pre-ordered one. Planning on running it stock.

That was my original plan. Think I will set it up with a bit overdrive in front so to protect the drivetrain on tarmac I've ordered the central diff and as I was on it i ordered the same Absima brushless set for it that I have for my XV-01... Well not everything in live goes according to plan

From a UK retailer -

They are currently showing the 23rd which is near the end of the week, so, with the weekend in mind, I think we'll see them around the 27th/28th.

Unfortunately I've had to cancel my pre-order for this with Time Tunnel as I've run out of budget for the next few months.

Neil emailed me to say that everyone who pre-ordered from them has now cancelled? Seems a bit weird!

If anyone is looking to buy one for the best price I can see in the UK, go to Time Tunnel!!!

Ahh that's a shame, I reckon I'll get mine from SC models as they are only 5 minutes away from work so I can pick it up.

I've pre-ordered from Redfin in Baldock. Good to see another local on here though!

I picked up a Justock Brushless ESC this week to go in my XM-01. Hope it fits.

Anyone got a pdf of the build manual yet.

Nope, but competitionX did an  unboxing video where they list through the Manual. It's good enough quality to see how it's build, but not good enough to see PNs.

These things seem to have landed in a few hobby shops here in Australia, after a quick hopeful Google at work. So one was swiftly ordered, should see it next week  sometime😃. Very exciting.

I always say I'd better do the body first but I never succeed in that

With the XM-01 I have the excuse the Kadett body will only be send to me together with the chassis kit and some hopups

@Alex97 That Yaris is looking good!

Cheers, I reckon it's a good 5 hours worth of work with all of the stickers. It's not perfect but good enough, Tamiya could of done a better job cutting the number of stickers down by merging some.

I've ordered a 2nd which is just gonna be black as that will cut the prep time right down, I can't bring myself to use the blue one!

My order has also been dispatched!

Congrats @Alex97, looks awesome. I have got as far as cutting mine out and buying the paint  But I chose the same bodyshell. I need to pull my finger out if the chassis kits are shipping out now. I've just text my hobby shop who I ordered from but it's suspiciously quiet so far!

I'm collecting mine this afternoon.

On another

RcJaz are selling them at just under £160, once you factor import and postage it was no cheaper than buying into the UK. £60 shipping was also the cheapest option.

Now in stock at SC models, mine should arrive tomorrow.

Meanwhile I've been getting the body shell ready...

That looks nice, good work! I am also planning a 239mm body for my XM01, but one that has already been used.

The Porsche 914 was on my TA02 Drifter, which will now get the Datsun 240z Fairlady body. I expect my XM01 to be delivered within the next week. 🙂

These pictures are pretty much per page.

Overall thoughts so far

  • Nothing is labelled in the box, the screws/hardware packets don't tally up. This has slowed everything right down.
  • Similar quality to the M07
  • Very tightly packed chassis
  • Spacing for the arms is impossible, they call up different sized spacers however the codes for each part isn't on the back and if you build it with the supplied spacers it won't go together. I ended up using a range of 3mm spacers to get the correct "packing", this did allow me to get rid of any play in the arms.

Sadly not all smooth sailing so far 😞

While building I did add an extra few blue bits!

The kits really nice it's just the manual needs some improving. It's shaping up to be a nice model.

The price is a premium however for us in the UK that's partly down to the importer and a number of other factors, the Japanese Yen is at an all time low to the pound however the price of kits are still going up 🤔
