What's F/R weight distribution? Looks like all the heavy components are in front of the centerline, so it might be usable as a FWD.

This would make it a nice modern option for the FWD 210mm bodies!

Wiring kinda sorted out. I also printed a spacer to fill the shorty gap. As it stands it currently weights in at 1300g, this is without the body shell, centre diff fitted and in the longest wheelbase.

I'm surprised as most M07s race at about 1250-1300g, considering all of the extra 4wd parts I'd say that was pretty good.

Hi Alex do you have a file for the 3d printed battery spacer.
I received my kit today and I am just about to start building 😁

Yes, if you don't have a printer let me know as I'm happy to print one off.

I'm also drawing up a dust cover.

I don't have the fancy scales sadly.

You can either weight the car one axle at a time with a regular scale, or balance the car on a ruler or a pencil and measure the distance to each axle :)

Cheers Alex I don’t have a printer, are you Uk based?
what diff oil did you use ? I’m thinking 10k front and 5k rear I’m not 100% on what to use in the centre diff as yet.

Ping me a message and we can sort something out.

R-5K

Shocks

F- 40wt

R-35wt

I'm about to place a PJ order for the spring set.

I've already got a few parts ready for my XM01. The center differential was intended for my XV02, but it drives fantastic without it. The spur gear mount is the only tuning part I found necessary on the XV02, so I got it for the XM01 as well. I'm not sure which controller will go in, XR10 Justock or XR10 stock spec. The latter has an external capacitor that might not fit.

I was planning on building mine also with a bit overdrive in the front in the hope it handles more like my XV-01 but with more stability with the weight of the motor in the middle. For a M-chassis size IMO that's better than the weight of the motor all in front. (or all in the back like the MF-01X)

a few parts

The center diff and spur + a brushless system seems to be the go to options for the XM-01. Exactly what I'm gonna do. What's the exact problem with the kit supplied spur gear holder in the XV-02 as I may ask?

Nothing wrong with it in my XV-02. I think the centre diff or slipper is only required if you're running different ratios front and rear.

When I was assembling my XV02, I noticed that the spur gear wobbled a little with the plastic holder. And since this is exactly where the power is transmitted from the motor, I installed the aluminum part a little later. Perhaps my concern is unfounded with the smaller and lighter XM01.

Mine arrived today - not by post, I went to collect it. I have ordered a front one-way from Plaza Japan which won't turn up in time for the build. Want to do some mad handbrake turns (appreciate this makes it terrible at slowing down generally...)

Looking forward to building it - also waiting on some decals from MCi in Canada...

tight fit with the electrics

I'm happy I "trimmed" bits of the chassis down to make extra room.

I just had my shipping notification from Tamico, it's on its way! Probably will arrive next week.

@Alex97 I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds Tamiyas 60D tires less than adequate. 😁 I made similar tires out of old worn out rallyblocks, but they are still superior.

What tires are those? They look like they have same thread as Tamiya, but different sidewall?

They are half the price of the Tamiya ones and hook up pretty well. I used them on my micro buggy when racing on astro and they provided very good grip.
