Super Stock BZ in Touring Car

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Can I use BZ motor in Touring Car?

I read many Posts and some people say that they are the same, except of RPM and dust cover in BZ. I found also opinion, that e.g. TZ has weaker magnets which fit Touring Cars better.

BZ FDR is from 9.1 to 11. I will use pinion to achieve around 9.5.

What do you think?

BTW: Just buy TZ is not an answer. I already have new BZ in spares.

Of course you can use it, what possible reason would there be to not use it?  It's a motor, if you can get the correct gearing it doesn't matter if it's in a buggy, a road car or a truck.

A motor turns and does not care what type of chassis it is put in. It just converts electric into rotational force. What it cares about is gear ratio and cooling.

BZ and TZ are the same motor anodized in different colors. Same number of turns, same torque, same max RPM. And the BZ comes with the foam dust sleeve. So, yes.

The first time I tried ordering a TZ, I received a BZ with a note that "Tamiya had discontinued the TZ and was now manufacturing the BZ to be used interchangeably." While the part about discontinuing the TZ is all balls, it is true that they are the exact same motor in different colors.
