If only "MAP" wasn't a thing for us in the US.

How does MAP work then? Can 'specials' or 'deals' etc go below? Or is it just a hard limit at all times?

Nope, it's a hard limit at all times, unless if it's a "scratch and dent" special or a special allowed by a manufacturer. Stores can work around it by offering coupons and such (if the manufacturer allows them), they just can't advertise lower prices.

The idea is supposedly to prevent online stores from competing with LHS's, and to protect each brands "perceived value". But really, it's just a screwy anti-compeition policy that does nothing but hurt the customer.

Tangent incoming:

It's yet another thing that's been pushing me back into art, where things go on sale, and I don't have to order everything online.

Actually they have a lot of nice Tamiya offers. I have used them a few times, and they have been very reliable.

I look at that picture and what sticks out like a sore thumb is that Tamiya battery connector. How have Tamiya never come up with a better design? Maybe it's like a trademark these days

The Tamiya/Molex connector is easy to setup since it doesn't require soldering, and the patent for is more than likely expired.

I'm not a Molex fan, but I'll take it over weird propietary plugs!

Couldn’t someone make a molecule ( Tamiya style ) with thicker metals/ different alloys in the pins that would handle closer to the current a T or XT/EC plug handle? Is the limiting factor the inherent design or the metals / Plastics they are made of ?

I very nearly couldn't resist, but perhaps fortunately for my wallet they have sold out this morning.  I'd have loved one, but I just have no use for it.  There are no classes I can race it in near me and I already have an XV-01 waiting to be built.  Nonetheless, that didn't stop me hovering over the Complete Checkout button thinking 'buy it and figure out what to do with it later, you know you want to...'

 Nice post👍.

I am planning to run it as a TC at the 13.5 stock class in the local track.

I know that I will not be competitive and the car is not a dedicated racing machine but I don t really care 😎

I reckon you'll have a great time doing it.  I'm very much a beginner, but I've already established that I like a car that is lively and engaging to drive vs shaving every last second from my lap time.
