But then this thread calling someone out then becomes malicious no?

Not the way I see it. He contacted him before this and the behavior continued. This seems like an open attempt to resolve once and for all (hopefully).

Hey lets just all chill out and take a step back.

This forum is a form of sanctuary for many of us here as, unlike most of the internet it seems, there is very little in the way of argument that gets in the way of sharing knowledge, skills and experience. Lets just move on. Please?

I get people like the gallery thread, thats fine, its very popular, but a member posting a thread calling someome a clown because of a mistake should be a bannable offence IMO.

First time could be a mistake. Second and third time without any intentions of correcting or editing it isn't a mistake. That's pretty obvious. Now do you still want to insist that it was a mistake?

So is this a rule you're making?

What's the fury in you? You're not even in the discussion and you come in so furious.  Then you have an issue.

I dont make the rules, All I can do is press report on a post and its upto the Staff to deal with. Its not my decision, but its my opinion.

We’re just going to agree with irony. The ‘fury’ is the fact you seem to think its acceptable to call another member out like this. The fury your end is someone has posted in a thread…..

Lets agree to disagree. I just think you’re completely out of order doing this and should apologise/delete. Its clear some other members agree.  Were not going to get anywhere so Ill refrain from replying. Take care.

Tbh, I even go through the text/gallery thread without reading what everyone has written (sorry! :D)… it’s easy to not get distracted by text.

Bit of a mountain out of a molehill, this. Let’s move on eh.

I said i wouldnt comment, but you do realise that EVERY SINGLE OTHER THREAD on here has text replies, because you know this is a forum where text is normal. Its extremely essy to type a reply when thats the norm in the other thousands of threads.

Im out now.

Alright. I've made edits to the offending post. Just FYI, the post in question did not violate any forum rules. The only issue is that the guy violated a made up rule by a forum member with no authority. Additionally, please keep this down to a dull roar. Having a discussion about this is fine, but there's no need to get personal. I don't want to have to lock this thread.

But I'm pretty sure that everyone who opened and posted on that thread has read the title and you do realize and understand what it means right? Just because there's a reply button, doesn't mean that you have to reply with words or text. The reply button can be used to post pictures without words too you know. Well, that again is pretty obvious. There are thousands of threads here and only one with a simple rule of "no-words", yet can't be or refused to be followed. Why?

I don't undersatnd these statements really.

Just because I'm not a paid or premium member, gives me no right to say any complains or call out someone who has done something offensively/intentionally? Does this make you above me and a better person just because I'm a standard/normal member? Please explain...

Why isn't it up to him (or any of us for that matter, if we author a thread and suffer a rogue member)? We have the ability to message each other without bothering the busy mods. We're normal members having a discussion right now, and don't require a mod to referee because we can be adults.

Imagine something like this:

"Howdy! FYI, my thread was created to be without comments. Can you please edit?"

"What's up bro, just noticed you commented by mistake again I, guess. It seems you realized and admitted you messed up, so can you please edit?"

"Hey man, third time I have noticed you commenting on my gallery thread with no comments. Can you please edit?"

I got frustrated just typing that, and can see how the frustration level increased.

Imagine you start a "For Sale" thread, and the same guy continually came in and posted his own stuff for sale, in YOUR thread. "Hey, I got one of those, too, and you can have it for less than this one!" How long are you gonna let that slide before you send a message asking him to stop? Mod intervention should be the last resort. We should be able to work this stuff out, like we're discussing now.

My inbox is blowing up so……

No, me and you are the same level. You have no right to complain that someone has posted in a thread. Nor do I. Youre not a staff member. You’re nothing, like me,

. That means you or me cant call someone out for breaking an imaginary rule you made up. As the mod explained above

To be honest, I find the whole premise of that thread to be a little silly anyway. "Here's photos of cool stuff I've done but don't you dare comment on it!" makes very little sense to me. Probably why I clicked on it the first day it was up, and haven't bothered to go back. But hey, you guys do you. Doesn't bother me any.

As for this thread, there's another forum I frequent that's ostensibly a car forum, but drifts off into other topics as well: https://opposite-lock.com/. There is one and only one rule for posting there: "Be Excellent To Each Other." Good advice in general, especially so on the internet, where there's no body language or vocal tone to help convey your meaning. This argument doesn't strike me as being particularly excellent. But that's all I'll say. Carry on..

Glad Im not the only one. People wonder why forums are dying out to social media sites, and then here's a thread that turns a good old discussion forum into a highligh reel for likes. Baffling to me haha

There's only one way to settle this sort of thing.

A nice cup of tea, a biscuit and a biscuit sieve so you can safely dunk your biscuit without fear of dropping crumbs in your cup, ruining your favourite beverage,

Which you will need, for energy for the FIGHT.!!!!!!

To be honest, I kinda agree with you. I'd much rather read a little back story about the photo(s) that someone has posted. But it's a popular thread, that's quick and easy to post in I guess.

My first thought was Thunderdome but your suggestion has less bloodshed so probably safer.

Have you read the instructions?

Fffgggggttttt, I'd better put "Caution hot liquids may scold" on the instructions just for people like you who don't read the comments, only look at the pictures. 😂

Edit to add, it says tea or coffee in brown pen on the original Blueprint. 😂

The only issue is here is YOU. Its not your forum, you dont make the rules. You seem to think youre considerately more important than you think you are for some reason! Id suggest stepping down a peg or 5! Just because you made a post, you have no jurisdiction. Youre a standard forum member, who has thrown their toys out the pram, insulted another member. Its not for you to say who can post in there and who cant…..

Theres far more important things going on in the world, and the fact you’ve even made this thread is surely against some sort of forum rules, maybe youre the one who needs some intervention from the mods/admin? Youve called another member a clown? Surely some sort of action should be taken against you?

Couldn’t agree more<_< eventually the insults to to many people will stoke a reaction!…….but as I got a insulting PM I best do as he said in the PM and “grow up”
