Nitpicking on the marker size is beside the point altogether. Use 1mm diameter markers or 10in diameter markers but do respect the center to center. Then if you allow the inside wheels to bite the markers on occasion you see how marker size is moot. Once you start doing this you will see that the fastest laps are those when you stay off the markers and drive clean lines.

We all drive different cars, at different temperature and on different track surfaces and we do call it a race. Most fun I have had with an RC car period.

I’m trying to figure out how big a track this is? How large are the blocks on the drawing?

Hey mate, I have a feeling there may be a translation issue here, the measurements along the bottom and up the left hand side of the grid are in metres.

So the Silverstone circuit we did would need to fit in a minimum 8m x 11m space.

Ahhhhhh... Got it. Blocks = grid squares. Yep, in meters 😅 Thanks @Re-Bugged for a good catch. Indeed if everyone were running different scale it would not work at all.

Oha. That changes a few things. That's the limitation of my Petter Solberg english, since I never had mathematics in that language (but I had physics in english at the uni,  so should have heard about it). Sorry bout that, @RennsportEd.

@Andreas W my Sébastien Ogier English is decent but somehow I misunderstood as well :)

I truly hope @RennsportEd enters his Group C, along with @Eric Bloodsmith, nice to see more Group C's 👍

Today I did a practice 30min stint with my ancient but freshly rebuilt TT-02R. The shell is absolutely beat up but the new one is painted and will have its stickers added slowly over the next month.

I'm curious now to see how it would compare to my well sorted out Group C. I must say I'm absolutely stunned at how well an almost box stock TT-02R drives for Endurance. Tons of steering for sure which makes s it a pleasure to drive. I'm actually going to reduce rear droop to stabilize the rear end a bit. The old silver can motor was happy humming full on for 30min with just a little LRP fan. I wouldn't even want more power. All in all a very pleasant surprise.

Now I can enter in both Group C and GT3 😎

It looks like there is enough interest to take this series off pause and hit play again. :)

What track are we using? Current RBP scaled up?

  • TurnipJF changed the title to Endurance Racing by post - looks like we might be starting up again!

Let's see if I can prepare something. For some reason I find the loop the loop not too "scale" for Endurance :)

Unless anyone is adamant to using the current RBP 👌

I think we're going to Road America since this is where the GT World Challenge was racing this weekend 🙂

I have the coordinates and I'll try to draw the track properly tonight or tomorrow 👍 Thanks for your patience!

That body is perfect for GT3. Clearly a Green Turd 3 if I've ever seen one!

How long will the round be?

We are already most of the way through August, so probably until the last Sunday in September?

Here we go. I have included generous margins of 2m all around but you can crop as your running area might dictate.

All dimensions in meters. Numbering starts at the bottom left marker (1) and then follows the track clockwise.

Marker X Y
1 2.0 2.0
2 2.0 5.0
3 8.0 4.0
4 7.0 6.0
5 4.0 7.0
6 4.0 8.0
7 7.0 8.0
8 10.0 6.0
9 9.5 4.0
10 10 2.0

I think it's time to put the Porsche 914 body back on the M-08, so I get more wheeltime with itB).

The course looks fast and flowing,  so those od us owning a Group C will have a ball.

Looks good to me! Let's get going with Round 10.

Round 10 runs until midnight UTC on Sunday 28 September. Rules and lap count submissions as per first post in the thread. Hoping for a nice big turnout!

I have some track marker discs somewhere, but even if I do find them, getting a good spot to lay them down will be hard to find. Oh well.

That’s exactly what I was asking-thank you!

I found some orange colored plastic plates on Target.com that look like corner dots when upside down-8 or 10 inches in diameter for $0.50 a piece.

I’m making my RC Man chassis from my Promarkt C11 a runner to race with you guys. I’ve got a leftover 956 body (Canon livery!) that I will be modifying the tail to look like a high downforce 956k tail. I’ll be running a cheapo esc and the stock silver can motor-do you guys think it’ll need a fan? Cheers!

@RennsportEd. Nice to see you are joiningB).

A Silvercan is spendable,  but 30 minutes is a long time and you are only making the mandatory pit stop, so less opportunities to check the temps.I would personally fit a fan. My M-08 was perfectly fine with the TT motor as long as it had a fan.

Seems like we will have a good amount of entries this time, which is nice.

Silly question, but where would you plug in a fan to power it? Gonna use a Hobbywing 1060 esc.

I only have a silly answer ^_^: I have a Flysky fs-gt5,  so I have channels èn masse on the RX for fan, transponder and still one for lighting, if I want to.

You would need an Y splitter between the ESC and receiver, or solder in cables for the fan on the battery connector. When I write this I am thinking it's probably even so good just to give it a go without. It's just a Silvercan after all.

I was thinking of plugging in the fan on the 3rd channel on the Flysky 3 channel receiver but wasn’t sure. Thanks

Brilliant. I thought you did not have a free channel for it. Then problem solved and racing can beginB).
