when I first read the thread, all I could imagine was the transmission being destroyed.

I think my favorite thing about this build is the level of detail making it look like the factory intended this beast to exist. 
 
It reminds me a bit of Major Leafue baseball pitcher CJ Wilson. He’s a big time 1:1 car enthusiast and pro-am racer. 
He bought a few Mazda dealerships with his baseball millions, and , apparently had some very talented customizers working as technicians at some of his dealerships.

He commissioned a Gen 1 Miata ( MX-5 for the rest of the world ) restoration with a Renesis rotary engine from and RX-8 engine swap. Every effort was made to make the trim and stance of the car look like a stock Miata and the Renesis rotary in the engine bay looks as if the engineers in Hiroshima designed it that way.  
This Nitro Monster Beetle has the same vibes to me. 
Also, it’s just Bonkers , in a good way .
