Doesn't the 40th chassis have mounting holes for the stealth transmission, I would think that means a team car coming in the future.

I think its more that they have the mold and its easier to drill it fo all types vice just drilling it for the old 6 gear and then one for the stealth.  The Worlds used the stealth and the chassis is the same minus the extra step to mil it. It would be nice if we got a team car, more likely then a graphite.

Seems like people that placed orders directly with AE on the 17th / 18th time frame and after have just been left hanging (I'm one of them).  Seeing them pop up all over the world, in hobby shops, people buying 2, 3 or 4, seeing them built already and seeing parts and kits being scalped on Ebay already is becoming a bit infuriating to be honest. They have my money but can't seem to ship the kit I paid for...seems they seriously dropped the ball here on their pre-order system. You would think pre-ordering directly from the source would ensure that you get what you paid for....apparently not the case.

Yepp.

Watching RCKicks do his unboxing of the 40th and saying it will be auctioned off. That tells me he got more than one, probably three from the shop that sponsors him all the time. There is no way he is going to auction off one and not have one for himself.  Yah and the auction will pay for all the three he got

Somehow, I doubt it.  Unlike Tamiya, AE doesn't appear to seek riches in the re-release market.

I was hoping for a RC10T re-release but yesterday it seems that AE pulled the last few remaining parts for that model off their website. :(

I would be very surprised if we see a team car re-release -- pleasantly surprised, of course.

With regard to the RC10T classic re-release, it looks like I'm about to eat my words.

... but I really don't mind.  I've never in my life been so happy to be wrong.

OH MY, I can't wait!!!!  :D

Thanks....  I guess I got scalped by 49 dollars more, but at least it's a hobby shop(small business and it helps to support the regions economy, so...not a huge deal.

Far better than an individual at home, selling off 5 kits for double the price.

All in all I'm happy to have it..... It's 100% going to be built and ran....lightly ran, but ran.

I always wanted to feel what an rc10 drives like since I was 11 years old...this is my chance and I'm done with the shelf queen thing, hahah.

I love supporting the.LHS. I spent near 100 more on 3 brushless combos this weekend at a LHS compared to online. I'm good with it .

I ordered on the 16th early am and was a little above 2900,still saying awaiting fulfillment so i do not think they took more than 4000 from AE`s Direct ordering??

The order number doesn't coincide with the kit number though or how many there are it seems. AE has dropped the ball on their direct pre-orders. Looks like some people that ordered on the 17th got shipping notifications yesterday (on RC10Talk). I ordered mine on the 18th....still waiting to hear something. They had no problem taking my money though.....lol

Well got warning from eBay for harassing the scalpers, hahahah.

I went off this one scalper, scalping 5 kits for over 700 a pop.  It tells you how many are available....  Arghhhhh....  There is just nothing we can do about it....please refuse paying these scalpers!!!

Seems like eBay would have a price scalping rule in place?.

Yah but no because eBay doesn't want to lose their scalpers(aka money makers for ebay) so they let things slide.

eBay influences scalpers with their fees and taxes.  It's not really economical to sell on eBay these days unless you have the volume to make up the fees and taxes.

I don't really buy from eBay anymore for that reason. Getting a great deal on eBay is far and few between these days.

I got a warning as well, lol.

I just ignore them.  I know what I'm willing to pay and I keep searching until I find it.  Sometimes I never find it but that rarely happens.

The world is filled with scalpers but they never get my money.

I ordered mine on the 30th and got a shipping notice last night, so if you haven't heard anything from them yet I'd reach out to them if I were you.

I ordered on the 15th, once I saw the local hobby shops in Canada started taking pre-orders I emailed to cancel but they said it had already shipped (April 29th), I got tracking on May 1st and it was delivered May 2nd, so it was really fast delivery.
Overall I think i paid about $45CAD more than if I had bought it locally, which wasn't too bad. The retail for Canada was $540 while $380 USD = $520CAD.

The cost of international shipping is always going to add costs, unless the US price is much cheaper than the Canadian price. Also never use fedex economy or ground, their processing fees for inbound international shipments are absurd. I was lucky and managed to get it waived once, but lesson learnt. The extra $4/5 dollar extra for fedex priority means you have much less fees to pay (or $0 fees if you have a free fedex account).

But, lesson learnt for the RC10T, I think I'm going to wait to order from locally. AE has a limit of 2 per customer on this as well so it looks like they are making more and or anticipating less of a demand compared to a gold pan RC10.

Not going to preorder the 10T Fed up fighting over the 6 gear not knowing if I would get one,now I have 3 by mistake.,well thats what I tell myself? No parts support also ""really""  it gets at me also ! I paid almost 100$ more to order from AE site because of shipping and getting scalped by extra duty fees. . I bought one in Canada and it was 90$ cheaper, now the Dealer seeing the demand upped his retail price,PFFT! stuff it.

There should be no duties since this is classified as a toy. However there will be some fees from fedex on top of the taxes, did you choose fedex ground or priority?

FedEx is a courier does not care if its a toy or not if its over 75 CDN $ there coming after the Duties and Taxes(and they make lots of money off it to make out the paperwork ,now if it is sent through USPS that ties right into Canada Post and all the Extra Fees are Part of the Postal System and You pay only the Provincial Sales Taxes.

Duties and taxes are payable to CBSA, FedEx cannot make money off those. If you believe you've been charged incorrect duties and taxes you can definitely dispute it.

Taxes are dependant on the value of the goods, duties are dependent on the value and category of the goods. As I said Canada does not impose duties in toys.

What FedEx and couriers do is hit you on fees. But it all depends on what service you use. FedEx economy/ground charges you something like 5-7% of the value of the shipment on fees which can really screw you over if you have a high value shipment. FedEx priority charges $11. And Btw Canada Post also charges $10 clearance fee.

By the sounds of it, you chose the FedEx ground shipment option, cheaper shipping cost, but much higher fees, which actually results in you paying more.

Don't get me wrong I totally hate how couriers have all these hidden fees just to jack up their profit. Luckily I have a CBSA office relatively close by so I am able to self clear my packages so I only pay the applicable duties and taxes directly to CBSA, and not pay the couriers their clearance and brokerage fees.

After spending more on another RC10, from another source other than associated, the RC10 from associated shows up. I have two now and swallowing my words of not getting more than one. I didn't think associated would send it out, so I got another one from another store.

Well.... I opened it up and the designer, special edition box is all battered and water damage lol, total loss on the box, but I'm going to build this car and enjoy it, driving it around and possibly some racing.  I'm not using the body, I'll use the jconcepts body which is way cooler looking and put in my own racing colors.

I have the edinger and the other 40th car(good box) for collection duty, but might end up selling the other RC10.

So how many got sad faces when the special box was bashed on receiving?....  I would of been mad if this was for collecting, but I'll let it go, because that RC10 is gonna be built and enjoyed where it suppose to be anyways. Everything inside is perfect tho and can't believe I'm looking at an actual RC10 kit to build.

Can't really see it in the pics, but the box is dented and water damage...

Well, that stinks about the box.  But, for what you have planned, it's probably not worth filing a claim.

Anyway, here's my recommendation:

For sale, one ultra-rare RC10 40th anniversary original box with patina appropriate for a 40 year old box

WOW!  A true one-of-a-kind must-have for any RC collector.

Buy it now before it's gone -- 4-eva!  :o
