RC10 40th Anni!

Well, that stinks about the box.  But, for what you have planned, it's probably not worth filing a claim.

Anyway, here's my recommendation:

For sale, one ultra-rare RC10 40th anniversary original box with patina appropriate for a 40 year old box

WOW!  A true one-of-a-kind must-have for any RC collector.

Buy it now before it's gone -- 4-eva!  :o

Yah I'm not worried about it.

I'm going to have fun with this car, what it is made for.

The box will be a give away, free of charge, lol

The good thing is, I now have my dream rc10's, three now, one is a real vintage.

The only other car I am determined to find, is, the ever scarce LOSI jrX2....it is the last remaining car I need for my collection.

P.S. my 40rh chassis number is ,4272.

Nice day (very unusual in the uk at the moment) so I built my RC10 over the weekend and finished it in the garden today:)

No actually camel yellow backed with black just needs pinion gear and servo horn then it’s read to go:)!

No definitely not showing your age it’s astroturf! I’m showing my age by getting sick of mowing grass so it was replaced with Astro (sorry eco guys) but my rc cars love it:)

I ordered a JConcepts Detonator body, and I'm planning to do something similar to this. Should be finished sometime around the winter of 2028 :D

I've hit a few snags on this build. Maybe this helps some folks here:

Right off the bat, Step 1. Pic shows 4 washers, text says 2. I guessed 2 and got lucky, as I needed the other 2 in a later step.

The transmission build has been a challenge. One of the diff outdrives was binding while the other was smooth. I think it was the 1/4 oilite bushing. The internal retaining clip was a nightmare to remove. Had to buy a pair of snap ring pliers, which definitely helped. Removing the bushing proved to be another challenge as the compression fit was extremely tight. After finally getting it out, I used a flange bearing in it's place, and now everything is smooth. Maybe I just had a bad bushing?

Last step of the transmission build...that note about cutting the slot. I would definitely recommend, as it was a real challenge to get that e-clip in place with it completely surrounded in plastic. That bearing adapter should have been molded with a slot.

That's it so far. Maybe this helps someone!

Thanks for the tips. I haven't built a six gear RC10 yet. That's the only reason I chose the 40th over fan RCs graphite worlds car.

Anyone have tips for getting the axle pins in place? Associated uses roll pins, which are hollow and slotted, unlike Tamiya's solid pins. I assume they do this to allow for a compression fit, keeping them in place. I've tried needle-nose and channel-lock pliers with no luck. Very frustrating!

I always carefully use a small pipe wrench.

Interesting. Thank you @wtcc5. Are you using the thumb screw of the pipe wrench to slowly drive the pin into place?

@Room335: It is the kind of pipe wrench with different settings for the mouth opening size. I start with a fitting one, then use the next smaller setting until the pin sits.
