Kit #3743 is getting staged and ready. Lots of rain in the forecast this week, so the body will have to wait a bit . . . which is fine since I'm nervous as all heck that I'm gonna screw it up. I'll pick at the build throughout the week after work, no rush.

Oh man! Getting me all anxious to start mine.

More or less coincidentally I came across a German RC online shop that had the RC-10 in stock. I immediately put on order. That was on Saturday morning. On Sunday morning they were also sold out. Today I got the shipment note. :)

Tamico even gets a second batch, arriving in the coming days. So I will end up with two of these eventually -_-

If only I could get myself to open the box to see what number I've got ;) Might take a while

Yes, kind of cruel that they don't give you the number ON the box...

Oh, what a thing of beauty!

Well, it's been roughly 2 hours since you posted this image.  If you still haven't cracked open that box, you have more self control than me.

I'd be well into the build by now and wearing a great big :D .

It seems like these are not as limited as initially anticipated, they're still available on AE.com

Look at rcmart's IG post, they got loads of stock.

Yes, I have seen that and wondered… maybe a clever marketing tactic by AE at first, telling the shops they would only get a few…

Tamico told me AE announced they will send only 100 to Germany, with Tamico getting seven. Oh well, I am not unhappy. I wanted one for some years and now got two

My local hobby shop still has 3 of the CCs and a bunch of these 40th kits. Just waiting till they put them on their clearance shelf.

I've scored and bunch of good deals that way:)

The question is should we build this or the clear classic?   Mine can in yesterday.

As I have the luxury of two kits, I will build one for the shelf and maybe later for moderate use. I can imagine AE exploiting the vintage market and bringing more kits now that this 40th anniversary edition was quite successful. The numbers I have seen so far suggest they made 4000 kits. Which is impressive for our hobby.

For me the CC belongs build on the shelf to have the full effect. The 40th kit can be everything. A runner, a shelfqueen, a spareparts stock or a NiB kit for a collector and later selling. I would favor (the build) fun over a sealed box for the pure joy of life. But you decide ^_^

I see we still have hoarders and ebay pirates in the hobby, not at all shocked.

I ordered the 40th and the CC, but will likely give the 40th to my best friend.

10 years from now someone will die, and there will be an auction, and the guy will have 25 RC10 40th in his basement, he had no use for or need for lol.

It's a Tinkermat and then some JConcepts parts trays in various colors. I have a couple good posts showing them on my IG link if you'd like to see more.

Well gosh....

Guess I'm back in the 40th rc-10 game.

After requesting a refund, I get a phone call from associated saying that my car was already sent out. I can send it back or he could take payment back for it.

I told him to take payment back for it and I'll accept the RC-10.

After the discouraging disappointment of losing out on the NIB Turbo Ultima I guess the rc10 will be a sort of "make it up" gift lol.  Man these little cars do bring out the child in us "adults".

My plan is, this will 100% be a running RC-10 I have the Edinger for shelf duty. Of course it will not be pounded, bashed or get extremely filthy, just a fun car I will take to the park and run around a little bit....just so I can finally say I drove an RC-10.

A dream come true from 38 years ago(I think) when I was a pre teen wanting an RC-10 soooo baaaddd.

Can't wait to share my chassis number!

BTW the staff at associated are top notch...they respond immediately and handle the situation nicely.

I've posted the set up before, and it's great. Build gets done, shake it out onto the next. No more hardware rolling off the desk!

Yepp I just ordered one to use as a race mat when I go to the track. Having the edges will be great for keeping things on the table in the middle of frantic repairs getting ready for the A-mains.

I think I'll build the RC-10 on it to see how it is.

Cutting edge over a plain, flat mat. Thanks for posting.

It's ridiculous, they are asking double for a kit that you can currently buy!!!!

Just like Tamiya AE has a back catalog alot are waiting for. Graphite car, team car, CE car etc. Heck They could do the Kyosho thing and release race cars never sold such as the Detroit car, stealth car, etc etc.
