It's ridiculous, they are asking double for a kit that you can currently buy!!!!

Someone on eBay has three 40th kits and they are selling individual parts out of the kits. Just the chassis with NO nose piece or motor plate.....188 dollars.

Says three available so that tells me they are butchering three 40th kits.

I wrote to that seller and told them how much of a pig they are

Just like Tamiya AE has a back catalog alot are waiting for. Graphite car, team car, CE car etc. Heck They could do the Kyosho thing and release race cars never sold such as the Detroit car, stealth car, etc etc.

Nope, it will never happen!

RC10, Worlds, Graphite, Team, CE, RC10t, B2/T2, DS, etc.,  AE doesn't find re-releasing vintage RCs profitable so it simply won't happen.

(shhh.  I'm just trying to apply reverse psychology here and trust that I'm proven wrong --  again. ;))

I'm seeing a pile of these on eBay, highest price I saw is 750.00 for the 40th.

I'm real glad I'm not someone that would take advantage of people to make a cheap dollar like that. IDC, that is so wrong in my book.

I'm in the US and  pre-ordered mine 3 days after the announcement, directly from AE.  Here I am still waiting for a shipment notification and yet people on the other side of the world have been getting them....lol....Just cant figure out what's going on here....Just a little frustrating.

What would be a good motor choice for a RC-10? I have read contradicting things about how durable the gearbox is and do not want to damage it with a too powerful motor.

For reference - I'm in the US and pre-ordered on the evening of 4/15, and received mine on 5/03.

Number 654 here. Ordered on 19th from Ruddog just after I noticed the Tamico's post about preorders. Will get built.

Yepp and the scalpers got them for sale for 700 dollars already.

A little frustrating.

AEs recommendations:

On my build I found the design pretty tough. My fear would be the wear on the outdrives. Personally I wouldn’t go stronger than 13.5t.

I’ve just opened mine to find I have number 300. It’s of absolutely no importance but somehow having a low and round number has made me happy. 🤪

300

A data point for you:

I’m building with ball bearing upgrade, Holmes Hobby Retro 21T or 19T brushed motor, 18T pinion and NiMH battery.

My plan is to keep it within the performance envelop it was designed for. It is a “Classic” and should be run that way as I see it.

If this proves insufficient I’ll be surprised (obviously not a racer).

Let us know what you decide.

Yes, I totally agree. It is a classic and there is no use going crazy with the motor.

That said, I do lean towards a mild brushless system.

Another in the UK. I picked up from SC Models this morning, although I think it arrived at retailers on Thursday morning like Moffmans.

I know it's laughable.   These kits aren't going to be worth as much as OG kits and if people pay 1000-1500 for a re-release you're just not smart.  The quality was much better in the original releases.
