New tamiya tt02 chassis but what's wrong

Recommended Posts

So I bought a used tt02 mustang, don't judge me, and it had some broken pieces. So I bought a new chassis but there are rubbing issues with the steering pieces. I know I can simply cut it to fit but do other tt02's do this box stock?

Debating on going alloy anyways but would I still have the same issue with either tamiya or an off brand?

Could you post a picture a little bit zoomed out?

I think you have an assembly error. I think the steering part is upside down. Please check the manual.

Your bellcranks are setup wrong, and there are a few incorrect screws used in some places. The tip of the screw to your servo arm shouldn't be sticking out so far.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with buying used (I do it all the time), you just need to be careful and assume that it'll need work.

Time to break out the manual and start over.

This. You just need to rebuild it as per manual

I'm just adding a photo, so that what other members have said is easier to see.

That piece you need to turn 180, is flat on one side.  Currently, the side that's bowing out is facing backward. That should be toward the front.  The flat side should face the rear.  The flat side is what's preventing the rubbing.

And the piece that's attached to the horn is attached to the side closer to the servo body.  That long screw on the servo horn doesn't look all that secure either.

It is a worthwhile upgrade to make. Your car's handling will thank you for it.
