Stupid question from non-native english speaker

It took a while before I could bring myself to ask: What exactly does SCOOBY mean?? For some time I was thinking it would be rally-type cars only (like Imprezas), but now I'm quite unsure. Maybe there's a Ben or someone who could explain?

It's a corruption of Subaru - sort of rhymes with Scooby Doo, hence Scooby...

A Scooby is an Impreza, and comes from rhyming slang. The Impreza is made by Subaru, which rhymes with Scooby Doo(the cartoon dog). Scooby Doo is then shortened to just Scooby.
