@toyolien, did you finish her? :)

Yes I did, but I must have forgotten to update this thread. I raced it a Batley Buggy Club Vintage Classics a few weeks ago, and it was superb. The weather has turned a little now so I probably won't race it again until the spring.

Great build thread @toyolien mate. I'm still a little obsessed with your 1/10th garage:wub:

The shell looks great in the green. Is that JC Racing 2.2's with the narrower fronts? I think we need to see some closer up shots of the buggy bud, maybe in the garage?😉🙏

Looking awesome @toyolien
Great to hear you loved it. I love driving mine too.

Curious to hear your thoughts on setup

Thank you. (sorry for delay in replying). I was really pleased with how it drove. It was my first time racing a 4wd buggy since 1992. I'll be racing it again at the Modelsport National event in February, but this is indoor, so I need to work on the set up.

Thank you for the kind words. I will get it in the garage at some point over Christmas, as it needs some work on the rear stabiliser bar after a rear end 'shunt' in the final. It's currently sat without wheels on, on display. I used a couple of different sets of wheels in the above race. Both were JC Racing 2.2's with normal width 4wd front wheels.

These are the front tires in the pics above:

Ah cool👍 I'm going to run JC Racing 2.2" pepper pots on another Kyosho build. Did you run the Kyosho wide hexes up front with the slimmer front wheels?

I didn't run 'slim' front wheels, just the normal width 4wd fronts. And, I used the Koswork +1mm hexes on the front. Seemed to work really well.

Yeah, when I said slim I just mean slimmer than the stock Optima-Mid front, which are the same width as the rears. Good to know it ran well with a more modern wheel set up and wider hexes. Cheers bud👍

Got a great deal recently on the non-Koswork variant and just this second took delivery. Are there any essential hop-ups needed before building, or is it good to go as is?

If you are keeping it at the standard wheelbase, the kit belt is prone to slipping even with the tensioner set to max. The Optima belt is a tooth shorter which helps make the tensioner more effective. It's also much easier to fit when you first build than afterwards!
