Rising Fighter base Super Hornet project

Recommended Posts

So I've started on my Super Hornet Project, I loved the Ultra Hornet by @ThunderDragonCyThunderDragonCy but this won't be as awesome as his creation

Couple of questions I need to ask before I start buying parts...

Gear Ratios - I've been on tamiya base looking at different gear sets that fit into the Hornet/GH2/Super Hornet gear case 0005276

Super Hornet is 14.7/1

Hornet is 8.2/1

This info is from tamiyabase

I'm planning on using the 540 silver can then going on to a 540 Torque Tune.... Which ratio is best for the beaches etc?

Next up is the wheels, I'm planning on buying the orange wild one wheels from JC racing using 54896 front tyres and 53059 rears, are these 100% correct fitment?

Edit: As has been pointed out below, the Rising Fighter has a DT-01 gearbox on a Grashopper 2 chassis.

Hy,

The rims fit 100% on the rising fighter

The DT-01 gearbox only allows a 17 & 19 tooth sprocket

I drive all my DT-01s with torque tuned and 17 sprockets

Sorry, for that, I'm terrible at languages 😬

OK, now in very bad English! 🤣

The Rims will fit to 100% on the  Rising Fighter. 😉

The Rising Fighter use the DT-01 Gearbox. You can only use a 17 or 19 Pinion on it.

I drive all off my DT01 with a Torque Tuned engine and a 17 pinion.

Greetings Zippo

Now better? 🤣

I'm using the Hornet gear casing etc not the DT-01 for this project @Zippotech

I'll be fitting a 540 with 18t pinion as discussed above

Thanks

@Jonesy924 - I guess the white isn't the last colour going onto the body and wing, but it looks good! As much as I like the blue of the Rising Fighter, it's always nice to see something else.

Sorry!

It is, the Rising Fighter is just a Grasshopper 2/Super Hornet chassis with a DT-01 gear box mate

No that's plastic primer mate, I'll use automotive black paint, most likely have in my shed somewhere 🤣

Project update

I've bought a brand new hornet gearbox kit, orange JC racing wheels and rear 12mm hex adaptors, front and rear tyres. Still to buy Decals, Cvas and electrics

What I need to find out is what 3D axle brace to use with the Rising fighter/GH2 chassis mated to a Mk1 Hornet gearbox?
