RC10T Release Coming

What different from being an rc10 buggy?....just the bigger tires and truck body?

Same chassis tub, a Stealth transmission (early buggies had 6-gear), front chassis plate and nearly all suspension parts are 10T specific.

So, I guess the main chassis is about the only carry-over part from early buggy.

Interesting, looks like it has the OG stealth slipper and not the new design from the Worlds rere

I noticed that as well.

Also, they are including the foam (felt?) dust gasket so it's going all the way back to the beginning.  Very cool!

Longer front and rear arms, taller front and rear shock towers, larger 2.2" tires and someone check me I believe the nose plate is different to accommodate a longer wheel base.

Ok Tamiya AE has shot a salvo right over the bow. Now can we get a king cab/Monster racer?

Maybe this will give Tamiya a little push to re do them. I can't believe they haven't already, a lot of people wanting them.

Also, I believe the nose plate is narrow to accommodate the 10t's front bulkhead.

The rear shocks are a very similar design, if not the same, as the buggy.  Front shocks are unique to the truck due to their increased length.

…or a Dyna Storm / Dyna Blaster as equivalent counterparts to the RC10 / RC10T?

Not sure if it's been mentioned before but a fellow member on RC10talk.com has compiled a list of aftermarket parts sources for RC10 buggy and 10T trucks.

https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?p=553063#p553063

If you're concerned about parts availability, this might be helpful.

As with any RC, these parts move into and out of stock over time so patience is key.

I always felt the same way. The King Cab was more in the taller JR-XT - type era while the Stadium Blitzer (although in looks only) and Dyna Blaster followed the RC10T's low slung look.

Apparently UK stores will get no more than 1 of these kits each.  Joke release.

Yep agree 100%, Don't understand AE’s behaviour here. Firstly, why release these limited kits so close together, and then why limit them so much? I’ve asked my LHS to get me one, just like I did with the 40th (still waiting?) but as he’s such a small shop, he’s treated that way by distributors and doesn't get his orders honoured. While others who order lots more, list them 30% higher than the RRP

They are all over the place with these re-releases. First they brought out the RC10CC and said it was unlimited, only to then quickly withdraw it. Then came the 40th Anniversary Classic which was far too limited to meet demand. Now we have the RC10T Classic which pretty much is not being supplied to anywhere outside of the USA.

It just seems like a crazy overreaction to them getting their fingers burned with the poor-selling Worlds re-release 10 years ago. And I imagine if they bring back the Worlds this year the numbers will be crazy-low too.

Tamico have just posted that they were only allocated a few kits so they're not stocking it.  I guess to avoid getting grief from disappointed buyers and I don't blame them - I'd do the same!

Man oh man, sorry to hear about the supply issues in Europe.  AE really can’t seem to get this rere thing right can they?  I am holding out hope they have spares or additional releases up their sleeves based on the fact that the rere cars have their own section on the website.  Seems a waste of web development for two very limited releases.

It's a marketing tactic thats becoming more common among manufacturers, making something "limited" is a cheap way of forcing desirability and getting people to obsess over a brand.

Mattel has been doing the same thing with Hot Wheels, $20 die-cast cars in very limited releases so people snag them up to eBay them. Gets people to obsess over each release as it happens, also gets influencers involved so even more exposure for the manufacturer.

Ford does this with special edition Mustangs every so often, they even ask about your social media reach when you buy one. It's all about forcing desirability.

As a "normal" release, a rere RC10 wouldn't generate the same revenue as "IPhone" race-grade buggies, crawlers with tons of scale accessories, or low-grade on-road cars with tons of hop-ups (just look at Tamiyas TT02 fascination!).

I guess what I’m getting at is the “limited” here is bordering on ridiculous, based on what information is floating around. AE are not supporting retailers at all. Tamico aren't stocking it as they were allocated a few! For potentially 100’s of pre-orders. There’s limited, and then there’s this release

Quoting my comment to continue the thought.  I do expect there is more to come on the rerelease program.  I hope something more mass market that will hang around for a bit.  Partly because the website re-design, partly because the RC10T manual has part numbers on most everything, and partly because if you search the site right you can find some of the parts will apparently start being stocked in mid July.  Team Associated made it clear that they would not make parts for the RC10CC, they have not said anything about the newer kits.  Only that the kits will be limited, nothing I have seen on parts support.  IMG_4891.thumb.jpeg.9bfd56cd16b89d64c114f79765b24e23.jpeg

I agree.

Someone from AE was quoted saying "2024 will be a great year."

It's only May.

Youre quite correct. I have no interest in RC Racing, and Associated has never made anything that appealed to me ( I did own a T3 Team and a TC3 back in the day, but I have no attachment to the brand). The 'hype' surrounding the RC10CC Clear 'made' me pre order and get one. I got one , thanks to my tiny little local shop that probably appreciated the sale, but when I received it I was like, this isnt for me so I sold it for a SMALL profit. Its the power of marketing....

Yup, "hype" is what got me to try a Slash and a few Tamiyas. The RC10CC just seemed like something that should've been a model.

I am hoping for a RC10DS. I'd be in on a DS for sure and preferably one with the 2 speed transmission. The DS was one of those kits I wanted super bad but bought a TA03 instead. As much as I liked the sedan, I always had a feeling I made a mistake.

Yes!, a DS would be sweet. Although the SR10 comes really close for me and just about as much fun as the old DS!

I've been checking the internet up and down, the craze for RC10's is eye-watering at the moment, some people listing their classic kits for silly xxxx$ !! Even Team Car kits are to be found for 4-digit amounts:wacko:. Cheez, i sold mine 2 years ago for 250, now it is "worth" 3 times more:lol:.

However, as for a RC10T, seems that getting this kit is almost impossible if you're outside U.S:wacko:.
I have spoken to a friend of mine who runs a large RC Shop in my country, he managed to get hold of a couple of kits , so i should get one myself now.

I wonder why AE isn’t putting in the work for European supply? This is one of their most successful models ever and of course everyone wants one. Seems like a silly mistake to be gunshy on part runs for a kit like this. Perhaps they’ll do them in installments once the checks roll in. Weird. Also …oilite bushings? C’mon, Associated.

Anyhow, I think that I’ll hold off despite remembering how well these drive. I’m going to probably grab one of the bodies, however, and place that on my Tekno ET410 and call it a win.
