Talbot Sunbeam Lotus for M chassis?

Recommended Posts

Has anybody ever made a 210” wb Talbot Sunbeam body for the shortest M chassis, especially one of the Lotus version? I just dig up my Traxxas 1/16 Fiesta that currently has a Proline Beetle body for the Mini-E-Revo and would like to get one of a Sunbeam body for that and/or my M-03 if I ever get that running again.

Only one I'm aware of is the full-size 257mm wheelbase version that LandLModels distribute (Team C?). Never seen one for an M-Chassis I'm afraid :(

I remember seen here someone's build of a Talbot Sunbeam Rally Livery - not too long ago. I cannot remember the make of the body neither on what chassis this was, sorry:huh:

That was Technics with the L&L body mentioned by CHRISRX718.

The nearest in design and age would be either the Tamiya or Carten Golf MK1- which I as a heavy Golf MK1 enthusiast know is not the same;).

In my opinion, the Talbot being RWD and Golf being FWD, the fundamental difference between these cars is too vast to consider them comparable at all ;)

I know and I was tempted to notice that. But I am meanwhile somewhat imprinted by seeing all the Mazda Miata bodies on M-07-chassis , so I was mainly talking about the design itself.

A RWD 2WD body in 210mm which is obtainable (and more or less from the same era) is the Renault 5 Turbo body from Montech. Still not a Talbot,  but at least it has the driven wheels in the correct end:).

Kamtec has two Sunbeams, but that is a different model, the Stilleto, in lexan and ABS. But they're too small (too short wheelbase) and have a different rear end ... no luck there either.

I’m a Mopar guy, primarily their FWDs and that was part of the reason I’m interested in the Talbot Sunbeam Lotus, it’s a cousin of the Dodge Omni and Plymouth Horizon we had here in the US, which had a Shelby variant on the 4dr which looked a lot like the Sunbeam as well as the 2dr, which was referred to as the Charger in that time period.

I did an L&L bodied Sunbeam for a mate which was fitted to a TT-02 chassis:

Could you add the chassis extender for the M-03 chassis and make it longer? The width looks about right.

Right now I’m looking more for my Traxxas Rally since they’re close in size to the shorter M-Chassis. When and if I revive my M-03, that will be staying with a Mini body if possible.
