3 Speeder metal polish recommendations

Recommended Posts

Hi All

I finally have a Blazer to go with my Hill that i still have from when I was a kid. The hilux chassis is still new (and technically not quite finished even now....34 years later) but the blazer has been lightly used and would benefit from some polishing. What's the best stuff for the metal parts like the bull bar and rear bumper? I have a range of stuff for full size cars like Autoglym, Autosol and Mothers but wondered what folk get best results with.

The huge irony here is that i bought a Blazer new from Deansgate models in my teens for i think £65 or £85 swapped the body onto the old chassis from the hilux and sold it for not much at the time.....

thanks All

I use Mothers aluminum wheel polish on pretty much everything. Works fantastically, either with a Dremel polish wheel or just plain cloth and elbow grease. .

I used to use Mothers until someone turned me on to Simichrome. You can use it with a cloth or rotary tool. And it’s from Japan too, so your RC will feel a bit more at home.

in all seriousness though. I restore vintage bicycles and after lots of tests with different compounds, Simichrome is always the final step in polishing.

Simichrome polish works wonders, really good stuff. I even used it to polish the header and exhaust pipe on my RC10GT Black Tub truck I restored.
