Parts left over from Tamiya LunchBox build

Recommended Posts

Hi - I've just finished (Apart from painting the shell) and I seem to have quite a lot of bits still left over?

Is this normal?

The only thing I upgraded was the tub mounts and metal bearings.

Thanks in advance.

Andrew

The body will use quite a few screws to assemble, plus obviously the windows and chromed parts.

You should have a couple of brackets plus screws which would allow you to fit CVA dampers left in the build packs somewhere, along with a few odd screws/washers/nuts etc.  This is normal.

Is that extra gear from the Wild Willy still included in those kits? I know that has confused a lot of people over the years...

Since Tamiya kits many times  are "mix'n'match" parts from various other RC car kits in their line, some of the sprues contain stuff that is not needed. They are marked with dark grey in the manual, in the back, where you have pictures of all the sprues.

There is one plastic gear and a few black parts still on the sprues.

I've double checked the instructions and they are not anywhere in instructions.

Thank you for you help.

Kind regards - Andrew

x2. and keep all of it too. I have one of those little clear craft / tackle boxes where I stash all the extra screws.

Totally normal.....some Tamiya parts sprues are used on other models, like the Hornet, etc. and they always gives you a few extras on the hardware.

If you get 3 Tamiya Kits, can you make an 4th car of all the leftovers then? :)
