Titanium turnbuckle source

Recommended Posts

Quick backstory: Back in mid 90s, I raced my RC10 team car on a tiny budget. Most of my money went towards just trying to eat and pay for a place to live. I had noticed a bent steel turnbuckle on my car. I scraped some money together and purchased a Lunsford turnbuckle set. After removing all the stock turnbuckles, I noticed that every single one had a bend. After this experience, I upgraded any steel turnbuckles on my race buggies to titanium.

Fast forward to more recent times. I've generally been able to find titanium turnbuckle sets for any buggy that I've owned. Sometimes it's necessary to buy pairs to build a complete set. This happens when I'm building a custom project car or when I'm late to the party with a certain chassis such as my FF03. With Lunsford now gone, what company are you guys using for your titanium turnbuckle needs?

Schumacher + Tamiya both offer titanium alternatives however pretty much every manufacturer offers them as an optional extra now, it's usually not as a set but as pairs so you'll need to order the correct sizes yourself.

I’ve used Yeah Racing as @toyolien said above. They do sets for some kits, but I’ve made my own sets by buying in pairs

I literally read the thread title and was going to say "Lunsford" - I didn't know they'd gone :(

Some UK sellers are still showing Lunsford stock, I guess it doesn't move all that fast.

I really want the Arrowmax turnbuckles! Look much easier to use.

Yeah, whenever I find them here in "normal" lengths, I buy them.

Yeah Racing at RC Mart do a nice selection of sizes too. I've used them on several builds are they are great quality.

These look like a solid option.
