3D Printed Parts

Anyone on here got a 3D printer they can use to knock up parts? My brother has an olf Losi High Roller which has stripped the idler gear and is now useless. Seems a shame to throw it for such a small part. You can 3D print them but I believe it neds to be a good printer that can make reinforced plastic from multiple spools. I thought I'd throw it out there anyway.

You'd need someone to model the gear for you before you even think about printing it. Unless you can send someome the original gear to model in CAD this is a non starter. Modelling gears without knowing the original pitch might be difficult.

Lots of folk have 3d printers, me included, but the strongest, and perhaps most accurate, 3d printing is probably only available from commercial printers. I have had a number of parts commercially printed too. It's not crazy money and it's dead easy to upload and order. Most have a minimum order value, but some don't. Do you have a model of the part?

Ye we still have it somewhere. Might be able to make a blueprint for it somehow and send it off. Its a shame to have a good truck laid up because of one part.

Is it possible to change the gearing completely? New spur and pinion etc?

if you know the pitch I find it hard to imagine you can’t find something suitable to install with a bit of fetling

isn't there a Robinson steel version of this idler gear available?
