Any experience of PR racing kits?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Wondered if anyone had any experience with PR Racing kits, in particular the stadium truck S1 V4TR?

Thought I may try something a bit different but not a lot of info out there other than the odd YouTube clip.

Looking at the instructions shows a lot of similarity in the drive train parts with AE b6/t6, but any first hand experience thoughts welcome?

Thanks

I've been running PR kits for many years and they have come a long way. Parts quality, fit and finish are top notch and they are very durable cars (esp the 2wd platform).

They've won races regularly, and at the local track where I run they have a reputation for being among the best performing cars available. They tend to shine in tight corners while maintaining stability.

They feature a lot of adjustability but may not have all the minute adjustments available on the associateds or yokomos, but for me what they have is more than enough. :)

Instructions are decent, but not at the level of Tamiyas. Setup info may be lacking too but if you look they are out there. You may need to enjoy a bit of self experimenting to get them dialed for your track. Problem in some locations is also parts availability.

The cars are great value though. For the price what you get in the box in terms of quality and performance I think can't be beat.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info, much appreciated. Will look into the spares issue before going further then, as to date I've only found one shop who stock them for UK distribution.

Based on the many PR buggies and a few SCTs at my club. They are very durable and very aggresive in the base setup, really shining on tight high grip tracks with the kit setup. The designs are slightly out of date, they were at the cutting edge a few years ago but haven't updated the platform like the other race brands.

I have a PR-S-1?

I think that what it is called.

It's the rear moto, old body version of their racing 2wd buggy. It is awesome....on par with anything from associated or LOSI IMO.

I have not built it yet, bit all the parts and things look really really good.  Raving reviews on YouTube on this car

Thanks for the feedback, ended up picking up a second hand AE T6.2 due to the better availability and cost of spares (although on most accounts they appear pretty bomb proof).

Thanks again
