TBF aren't most tamiyas eventually re released!

Maybe, the Super Astute was the last "new" rere and that was what, 2018.  Everyhting else has been a rebody or another run of the same old same.  Lord knows the one rebody alot of people want they wont do, the Avante 2001.

Well, Tamiya has done the most for the reproduction market than any other, sooo... Be happy with what you can get now.

It's a slow process to just pop out every car they made in the past.

I guess also it makes sense always to have some in demand models they haven't rereleased yet. Keep up the hype and speculation. Once they're done they're done....

Have most rereleases come back again a few years later for another run? There are a few I'd be on to in a heart beat if they came back, with Super Astute top of that list.

I think it's the other way around, Tamiya has been doing-releases for years and AE is starting to see some money in it.

If Tamiya made any RC10T wannabe it was the Stadium Blitzer. They have the chassis/wheels already, they just need the body. Of course Traxxas will happily sell you a Rustler too, just without the retro bodyshell.

Edit: I'll take Tamiyas lack of a response any day of the week, vs AE chasing aftermarket companies.

KBF, King Cab, Hilux Monster Racer, Hilux, Jugg 2.  As excited as I am about the RC10 and RC10T rereleases, any of those Tamiya kits would steal the thunder right back in my eyes.

Kind of, the King Cab and Dyna Blaster were first with the Kingcab having alot of success at local tracks during the time of the 1st Gen JRXTs, RC10Ts, and conversion trucks.

The King Cab was released first with the Losi JR-XT following shortly thereafter. The RC10T was a relative late-comer to the racing truck scene (many other manufacturers like Kyosho, Traxxas and Schumacher had jumped into the racing truck pool by then) , first debuting at the '91 Winter Champs. The Stadium Blitzer followed the RC10T in '92 with the Dyna Blaster not being released until August of '93, two years after the RC10T. The Dyna Blaster was probably Tamiya's closest approximation to the RC10T.

Although pitting potential re-releases against each other is a fun bit of bench racing to hopefully stir interest, Tamiya has rarely directly responded despite obviously offering vehicles in various competitive market segments. The Clod Buster/Bullhead vs the Double Dare/original USA-1 being the closest to a direct battle with Kyosho in this case.

Funny enough that Tamiya Re-Re'd a lot of their old kits, some quite in more or less original layout, some with some (well thought out) alterations (Bruiser RN36) ... but the King Cab or Hilux Monster Racer were never part of that. And I fear they will never be. No idea why. The chassis was very cool, only the ball diff was garbage, at least if one didn't know how to set it up correctly. Admittedly I fragged mine. Still having a new built chassis with a Thorp Dirt Burners diff, an unpainted body but w/o wheels & tires. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Yes, but with no spares or option support.  I run a 511 at my local track , I get worried every time I crash.

Those are ALL runs off current cars. Try again.

As a former RC racer and long-time AE fan, it seems comical to mention the RC10t and the Stadium Blitzer (or anything from Tamiya) in the same post.

It's like comparing this:

... to this:

:P

I like my SB as well.  :)

I agree, with the exception of the Dyna Blaster and possibly the King Cab earlier. The Blitzer was definitely a step down from the King Cab, but clearly had the look of the low slung RC10T. The Futaba FXT, which was based around Tamiya's Blitzer, was even closer to an RC10T wannabe with its black anodized aluminum tub chassis, fiberglass shock towers and ball diff.

Perhaps not best suited for the track but I'll admit that not everyone races these trucks.

The King Cab is good but Blitzer and FXT are among the best looking stadium trucks of all time - IMHO.

I'm looking at a boxart SB as I'm writing this and it's just gorgeous.

Btw, for those waiting for the re-release of Avante 2001, I recalled that when Tamiya first re-released the Egress, they had also re-released the Avante 2001 bodyshell as well.

Correct, BUT there's a lot more to the 2001 then a body. Although that was pretty nice. Need the white wheels, Avante 2001 tires , and the black shocks.

Tamiya has available or will make available again the following: All 3 SRBs are available, along with Hornet (Evo) Grasshooper, WO/FAV, Bruiser, Avante / Egress.. etc etc

Clearly they are the leaders in re-re realm, so they don’t need to do a like for like re-re. It’s the others that need to play catch up

Yes, but those all have come out, the spark is gone . Time for something new.
