At one of our regular solid axle races we run a vintage Tamiya class for the Lunchbox and Pumpkin.  I finally got one built and raced it for the first time yesterday, so much fun.  We run them bone stock (bearings allowed) and it makes for some good, close racing.  It's a fun warmup to our solid axle racing and also gave me an excuse to build a Lunchbox so I'm happy.

It really is a fun little truck, absolutely love driving (or bouncing) it around.

Looks like great fun. Only pity is there is no video footage of the race chaos :)

I love that it’s stock ( bearings allowed) . Now that Parma is back up and running should allow the lexan Pumpkin and Lunchie bodies , too.

Yes, it wouldn't be nearly as much fun if you could upgrade them.  It's just a fun class to get us ready for racing and also a good excuse to run some vintage Tamiyas.

There's video of the event, but unfortunately none of the Tamiyas.  I'll make sure to have someone film it next time!  Next race is in a few weeks.

Hey, would you share a link to the vid', please? (if it's online)

Would be nice to see (one of) your MT racing I think :)

Sure, here's a link to some of the Pro Modified Racing on FB - https://www.facebook.com/share/p/PGYtLfLz2WSzJmcJ/

Hopefully that works...

Works fine, no need to connect to FB, thanks for sharing :) . There are some seriously fast & well driven trucks!

You're too modest, you didn't mention that you won the LuchBox race ;)

Glad it worked.  Yes, the Pro Modified trucks are quick and a handful to drive properly.  Yes, I didn't want to brag about the win :)  It was actually the first time I ever drove it, haha.  Can't wait to run it again, such a fun little truck.

Few more shots of my other trucks (some Tamiya :) ) from the other day.  One of the guys that races with us is a great photographer.

Does your club use Trigger King classes and rules ?

I run with a few different clubs in the area, but in general yes.  In this particular race we ran Retro, Sport Mod, and Pro Mod using TK rules.  We also run Tamiya Vintage 2wd and 2wd Tuff Truck (Stampede, Gorgon, etc.) so more people can get involved.

That looked epic! A great idea for a course so 2 trucks could race side by side. All the power slides round the cones looked fun.

Yes, lots of fun!   Back at it this weekend with an all new track and full dirt jumps.  I'll try to remember and take some pictures to post up next week.

In the meantime, have a look at this Popalong RC video for some all-over-the-place racing:

Yeah, they seem pretty planted and still going like there's no tomorrow. :)
